in the eyes of everyone other than us it seems, if you go to espn.com and look at the simulation that predicted us to win everyone is laughing at it saying they will do this and that if tennessee wins and talking about how we will get "dominated" i (manning4mvp16) posted a reply to them saying why we have a shot, all of my friends also seem to think we are going to lose, the espn predictons have said we will lose

so my first question is, what makes them think that?

and my second one is, do you think it will help motivate us with nobody giving us a chance?

First: IDK

Second: There are plenty of people who have picked us to win.

Now it's up to us.

Has this season taught you nothing?

We were suppose to be blown out by Florida.(Didn't lose by 40)
We were suppose to lose big to Alabama.(We won this game)
We were suppose to beat UCLA(Lost)
We were suppose to beat Ole Miss(Got owned)
Were suppose to lose to UGA(Owned em)

If the Special Teams can put together a decent performance, the O and D will take care of the rest.

Well, Tennessee is unranked at 7-5 and playing the #11 team in the country.

I hope Monte flips the ESPN commentators the bird after we shut that offense down, since we don't apparently have a chance

of course we have a chance. they are and should be favored because of overall record, etc....

saying that, if the vols come out focused then i say we win by at least ten points

VOLS 27
VT 16

I don't pay attention to their predictions anymore. I picked Fresno St over Wyoming because their system basically gave Wyoming no chance. We all saw what happen there  It'll just be that much sweeter when we do beat VT and show all the haters up

I have a lot of VT friends and they none of them are excited for the game, I know Tennessee fans and players are. If VT comes out flat like they do in all bowl games we could put a thumping on them

It was the same thing with Miami at the '85 Sugar Bowl. Except nobody, anywhere gave the Vols a snowballs chance in hell.

Better than 5-7. AND, more importantly, a 7-5 with those mentioned performances on CBS, is a MUCH, MUCH different 7-5 than it would be had we lost by a combined 50. To say different is suspect.

Edit: Lyls beat me to it. Agreed by vast maj nonetheless

a very competitive 7-5. We come within a field goal from a gimp kicker in beating the SEC champs and probable National Champs. I sure hope Va Tech just views us as "another 7-5 team"

I'm with ya . That's exactly what ESPN thinks too......just another 7-5 team. Don't forget the good teams we played in the SEC this year. The only team that laid it on us was Ole Miss, which they are pretty decent. I'm not gonna pay too close attention to those early losses to UCLA and Auburn. This team was still adjusting to the new system. From that point on, Crompton has performed well and I'm satisfied with our overall performance for this team under Kiffin's first year. It's going to be very interesting to see this team after 1 month of rest and planning. Just wait and see!

I am not hating on our 7-5 record. Just stating that is probably a reason.

I get ya G-crop and I'm not making excuses for any of our losses. I just hope the turkeys view us as any other 7-5 team. They're in trouble if they do

yeah, i personally think we will win because i believe Virginia Techs players will look at us as "another 7-5 team" i know their coaches wont, but i dont think the players will listen to the coaches much about us being "better than our record" they will say, they lost to ucla... ohio played them tough... vandy played them tough.. gah they must suck. instead of dang they should have beaten alabama, they could have won in the swamp, they destroyed uga, and hammered south carolina!

atleast this is how i want them to view it!

Maybe the tards at ESPN are not picking us to win, but many sports gurus(?) are, so I don't know if we come off as this loveable underdog as many fans feel we are. As for me, I expect to win this game.

Virginia tech is not the same team away from home (lane stadium I think). At home, they are very good, almost unbeatable but on the road or at a neutral site, there play is very average and sometimes even downright poor. We will win. Everyone will eat crow
