We dodged a bullet with Becht.

I know. I literally just corrected what I said to “active career leader”, not just a single season.

But as I also said, none of that nor how many INTs he has thrown in the past have anything to do with a single game he will play this season.

You’re just being argumentative and negative for the sake of it.

As some on here have said, let’s focus on who we have - Although it IS an interesting counter factual to consider how another possible QB might have changed our current trajectory on the field.

But we’re about to cross the proverbial line of departure for battle. I am hopeful that Aguilar (or one of the other QBs) will prove to be up to the task.

What eye test is telling you he doesn’t look as good as Joey? Joey hasn’t played here and had worse stats against worse competition the previous two years.
Because I have a crystal ball and you don't. That's the crux of the situation. And if you don't start being a little more civil, I'll not be sharing any more of my inside information or acquired wisdom with you. How's that?

I fully anticipate that Syracuse will be a cake walk and I don’t think we’ll know anything much more about our team after that game.
Really? I think many questions will be answered after Saturday. Many questions on this team. Oline, WR, RB, Dline, QB, DB, how will they preform vs a Major College football team? Pass rush? Tackling? Syracuse isn't SEC but they are top a 50 team.

I think we will be able to see if we are going to be more like the hooker team by the speed of the offensive plaiys and how any times we throw downfield, versus mostly short passes.

Maybe…. I wouldn’t be surprised if we play pretty vanilla and just run it down their throats. I don’t mean that we’ll learn literally nothing, just that I don’t think we’ll have enough information to meaningfully revise our expectations.

I’m not likely to be any more confident about how we’ll play against someone like Florida regardless of the outcome Saturday. I think Syracuse is going to be terrible this year. It’s like NC State last year.

Not sure about that that. Consider the NCSt game last year. That offensive presentation didn't really prologue what we saw in conference play.

If that would've been Tennessee playing ranked Kansas State in Ireland for the season opener with Aguilar making his first start, I'm inclined to believe OP's narrative would be: Aguilar got us a win over a tough ranked opponent with all eyes watching and that's all that matters.
