John A Logan College in Illinois is also known as the Volunteers.

I didn't know there was another. I was driving thru Illinois yesterday and happened to hear "Lady Vols" on the radio during a sports score segment.

hmm did Hart sell them the rights to use the Lady Vols name ? :hi:

Well, they play rocky top at their football games

At Bradenton Southeast High School in Florida, the teams are Florida orange and blue, but are the Seminoles and they play the UT fight song, Down the Field. I was at one of their games back in the 80s and it felt really strange seeing a team in orange and blue using the FSU Seminoles' logo. Then, when the band cranked up Down the Field, I almost had to be checked into a mental hospital.

My rival high school was the Jeff Davis Volunteers

Had some friends that went to JD. They also played the Kentucky fight song and had Green Bay Packer football uniforms. My junior high principal at Goodwyn was the first principal at JD, Jack Rutland.

I lived in Dalraida until the 8th grade and wanted to be a Robert E. Lee General but my family moved to Wetumpka and I became an Indian instead.

The old Montgomery rivalries were classic, Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and Sidney Lanier. Great football players came out of there.

I've spent some time in Wetumpka

I hope you are not female. That is where Tutwiller Prison for Women is located.

Was a quiet little river town, but now the casino has woke it up.

Family of my friend still lives there. Stayed there on trip to Auburn and another time on our way to Baton Rouge for an Auburn @ LSU football game.

Lots of Auburn fans in Wetumpka. The year I graduated from Wetumpka the Auburn band had 37 members from the old Elmore County Band.

Yeah, they're diehard Auburn fans. Go to every home basketball game and football game and some road football games.

yes we are!

this thread is funny...sort of

We are the only UT
We are the only VOLUNTEERS

What is the most extreme form of flattery?

fill in the blank_________________

STOP IT!!! this is not a problem
I am very proud of our history.

Anybody out there remember Johnny Majors instructing us to say VOLUNTEERS instead of just Vols when referring to the UT football team? ( he may have been under the influence).............too

That was just his sobriety check. As long as he could still pronounce Volunteers...keep em coming!

Much more fun to be had in a women's prison than in a men's prison. (Unless you're bent that way).

I don't know the most extreme form, but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, as the old adage tells us.

I went to Crockett Middle School in Paris, TX, for part of my 7th and 8th grade years. We were the Volunteers, and our colors were orange and white. I played wingback (basically a TE) and we went 7-0 my 7th grade year and 6-1 my 8th. Go Vols!!
