Said he had a blast at the UT-UF game with his mother. He got to meet Peyton and he spent time with the coaches and players.. Said it's possible he might committ very soon. Were also in good shape with Williams, Juric, and Miller. A very reliable source has said, "We'll be happy in March on and off the court." Gave hints that we should get multiple verbals later this month.. I wouldn't post this unless I was confident. This guy knows Pearl and leaves hints when he PM's certain people on Scout from time to time.. Also said we are making up ground with McClain and we should definately get a visit once his season ends.. Big things are on the way for our basketball program..:dance2:

Pearl is building something special, let's just keep the wolves away from his door like Michigan and others that will be looking for a coach.

Pearl bleeds orange man, i don't believe he would leave UT untill he wins a Championship or gets fired (which i dought). But i do believe he is silently putting together a very good program. But i have to ask a question. You said that Chris Singleton got to meet Peyton Manning, Wouldn't that be an illegal recruiting tactic? Just curious i hope not. GO VOLS

If not this year, then maybe next year VOLS can get a NC in Bball. With Duke Crews and Wayne Chism, which i hope can be on the court at the same time. If Chism and Crews were to team up, our rebound percentage would sky-rocket. We would be dominate down low IMO, we would just pass to either of the open two and they can SLAM it down. They say Pearl run to fast an Offense/Defense that they will tire and that they need to rotate. That is where losing Wingate ruined alot of things for us. I would not be shocked if we win the NC this year, had we had Wingate, Chism, and Crews. We would not have to rotate.

Man i love watching Jujuan Smith and Wayne Chism dunk they throw it down, with alot of energy getting the Crowed pumped up.

How would meeting Peyton Manning be an illegal recruiting tactic? Pretty sure it's not

Alumni are not allowed to contact recruits per NCAA regulations (i.e. call them or schedule a meeting). However, chance encounters at an event are perfectly fine.

I hate that USC lost this guy..

Unless you're Reggie Bush, of course.
Boosters asked him to call and he/they got caught.

I think at this point the NCAA is just going to collect all of Reggie's infractions before laying down punishment. Kind of pointless to investigate one by one if they're just going to keep popping up.:)

I Couldn't imagine bruce just up and leaving Tenn for another school. He bleeds orange and you can see it every time he is coaching the team. Bruce is da man!

Why would Pearl want to leave UT?

He now has a rabid fan base, great facilities, plenty of money to raise that salary every time he excells. Our past few coaches were sitting on a gold mine and just couldn't find the shovel.

Pearl will become a legend, and he'll do it wearing an orange coat.

Now that is funny, true, but funny.

2008 recruiting definitely looks strong!! 2007 isn't bad though... Cameron Tatum is going to be an excellent player. Brian Williams is going to be a project and Vol fans are going to have to give him some patience with the weight loss he's going to have to go through. Don't forget about J.P. Prince either, someone who will compete for a starting job next season.

I don't really see Bruce going anywhere either. The only place I could possibly see him leaving for after a few years would be Boston College, his alma mater. I don't know how well the people up there like Al Skinner but he's done a nice job, been there a while as well. I don't know if he'd bolt for the ACC but, never know.

I lived in Boston for a while, and the folks around Chestnut Hill don't support their athletics the way Tennesseans do. BC can't match the level of support and the commitment to excellence that UT offers. There's no way he leaves Rocky Top for that job.

I'm not so sure he'd pass up an NBA job though.

Not a chance Boston is too much of a pro town.

Singleton would definitely be a nice get for '08, but we also need to keep some of the in-state prospects at home. Guys like Elliot Williams and the Juric kid from Chattanooga, who's about 6'11".. the ultimate space-eater. Pearl was at one of Juric's games and got kicked out this past season.. we need to start landing some big guys consistently. Juric has us and Indiana at the top of his list. Williams, Juric and Singleton would fit in nicely with Chism, Crews, Ramar, Tabb, J.P. Prince and Cameron Tatum in '08.
