We are allowing the media to turn this into a referendum on the past decade. It isn't. It's a lower ranked team, playing on our field, without their starting QB.

Stay healthy, stay calm, and we win and move on. It's a cliche, but this really needs to be just the next game.

I mostly agree with this.
I believe it's okay to be motivated, but there is an exact reason why Gators are trying to get our players furious.
Huge difference between "up for the game" and anger that causes you to lose concentration.

OP,

Who is the "we" you're referring to? "We" aren't playing or coaching in the game on Sat.

Let the media do what they do. They, too, aren't playing or coaching in the game.

This media noise and trash talking shouldn't bother us. We are a storied program with a bullseye on our back every year. It just goes to show that the Gators are in at least the fans' heads. Only way to rid that vile lizard presence from our mind is to win and shut everybody up.

I'll believe we can beat them when I see us beat them. Until then, I'll just look back on my fond memories of that historic night when I was in 3rd grade.

I get what you are saying. However, when I think of the next game, whether it's Appy State, Virginia Tech, or Florida, that means that it's the most important thing. All the effort should go into "the next game". Saying "just the next game" is kind of the opposite of how I look at it.

Ohh.....don't you just love the media. They've got to sensationalize everything to the fullest. They love the drama..it's what their profession is built on!

You know, that sounds great and all on paper but if you've watched the first three games this season, there is little to no reason to expect UT to defeat Florida.

Absolutely, but we don't need JRM getting thrown out again.
I believe they've been motivated for a while, now they're just being tantalized to the point of....

I believe after a decade of UT of almost getting it done against Bama, Peyton Manning threw a touchdown pass to Joey Kent.

Perhaps we can have a repeat?

most logical thread on VN in months. fans and media have made this entire weekend, and a poor first 3 game performances, into a name calling, immature, program embarrassing spectacle. after 120 years of ball, all the pomp in the world doesnt make this more than one L or one W. GBO.

Wow! What do you get out of being so condescending? The OP is a fan like many on here who get really personally involved. When read in context, it is obvious he is a fan and as such can and did correctly use “we” as a member of vol nation. Don’t be so pedantic, that was a cheap and totally pointless shot by ‘friendly fire ‘. Why troll amongst ourselves?
i HOPE we BEAT THE DAYLIGHTS OUT OF THEM!

Ahh.. denial. I know it well. :)

I guess the national media is crazy too huh?

SEC Week 4 Odds, Picks: Does Ole Miss have enough left in the tank for Georgia? - CBSSports.com

Florida (+6.5) at Tennessee: I guess you go with the healthy quarterback. This is a monster game for the Vols, and this pick says I trust them to pull it together. Continuing this streak through the rest of the monster month they're facing is a tall order, but I think with Florida down Luke Del Rio, the Vols have a chance to strike early and win comfortably (as long as Tennessee doesn't try to get too cute and test that Gators secondary). Pick: Vols -6.5

This is a big game due to the SEC East race. Winner is in the driver's seat. Also this is a springboard game to being a legitimate NC contender. The 11 in a row is historic due to the fact that only one other team has had a chance just one other time to get 12 in a row on us. They failed and so will the dirty gators.

See y'all in Tampa.

This is true. Ever since Tebow cried, the Gators have been cursed with very average teams. Unfortunately, that period has aligned with our woes.

However, we are now on the uptick. While the gators are headed for yet another 4-5 loss season. Time to simply whoop that azz and move on to UGA in Athens. They have a good QB and home field advantage.

I heard on the radio this morning that ESPN analysts compared Austin appleby to Ben roethlisberger. Maybe a stretch... JMO TIFWIW WGWTFA
