I am over 70 years old and have followed UT basketball and football since I was ten and I can never remember a year when both of these events happened in the same year: 1. UT BB team was ranked in the top ten in the preseason. 2. The Wildcats were favored by more than 3 points at Knoxville ( I was surprised than it was that low). Has this happened before- EVER ? Someone out there enlighten me .

UK by 3? Doubt we can score more than 14 w/o some big turnovers. Our defense better ramp it up. Don't feel good about this one and haven't for some weeks.

Highly doubtful, I don't think Ky football has been ranked this high this late in the season since the 70s and can't remember if we've ever been ranked this high in bb preseason unless it happened with Ernie and Bernie.

When if ever have my Vols gone 0-8 in the SEC...I too have seen a lot of things happen in my 70 plus years and after '98, I can't understand the reason. To be brutally honest, I am ready for a change in the Attitude of This Program.

You and everyone else, but long time fans are helpless to do anything but have patience. and continue to support the team.
I too have been a Vol fan since the mid 60's and used to live and die for Tennessee football in the fall, but the last 10+ years of losing have taken it's toll and made me aware that there's much more to life than football.
Go Vols

Well if you can't run on Charlotte...CHARLOTTE, The team that didn't have a football program 7 years ago. I doubt we will be able to run on Kentucky. Just an observation though.....o_O

In 1950 they were #3 going into the UT game in Knox. UT and The General beat Bear Bryant's Wildcats 7-0. That team was later (1990) named national champs by Jeff Sagarin.

The 1950 Kentucky Wildcats football teamrepresented the University of Kentucky in the 1950 college football season. The offense scored 393 points while the defense allowed 69 points. Led by head coach Bear Bryant, the Wildcats were the SEC champions and by winning the Sugar Bowl were listed as the #1 ranked team 40 years later in a computer ranking produced by Jeff Sagarin, declaring them national champions.

I feel like this is a precursor to the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. We are entering the end times.
