Just a gut feeling

Whose with me???

Think Missouri game beatdown

I haven't really watch the Cats yet. However, if the Vols can bring their A game? Yeah, the Volscan take them.

Of course, that is assuming what they define as their A game keeps evolving. In week one to this week, the bar has seemed to be rising. This could be a week that it reaches a new height. Hopefully, they can get off to a hot start, and they have the stamina to not have a drop off late. Should be a good week for the Vols.

We may win but it’s not going to be like the Mizzou beatdown Kentucky is a much better team than Mizzou on both LOS. It’s very likely we lose but it won’t be 34-7 like last year where we rolled over. We are the underdogs going in and I know if we lose I can check on here late Saturday night and see some Fire Heupel threads and fans losing their minds.

14-17 points at least. Should be the healthiest we've been in a while. I think we get up on them early and never look back.

I predict you'll see an exhausted UK D in the 4th

They beat MU by 7 and struggled to stop their version of spread tempo. They're DL isn't built to play from sideline to sideline as MSU demonstrated... and they start to be vulnerable to the run when you spread them out too. MSU can't run the ball. They're literally the worst in FBS. But they had 3 rushing TD's vs UK and their second "best" rushing total of the year vs UK.

Losing Oxendine for them is a pretty big hairy deal. He and Paschal were by far their best DL's. Since losing him both UGA and MSU have been able to run the ball effectively vs UK. UGA had their highest YPC of the season.

UT was an underdog going into MU. Before the season I believe many had them underdogs vs USCe.

What was your prediction before those two games?

This is a match up problem for UK... and that match up mitigates their DL advantage over UT's OL assuming it exists against a healthy UT OL. One of the reasons Heupel gives for running fast and spreading the field is to catch players out of position and to help OL decisions and angles.

On the other side, my main worry is UK having success like Bama and OM when the QB breaks the pocket or runs draws. Levis is big and fast though not all that quick. UT can't let him leave the pocket running straight downfield. Other than that, UT plays behind the opponent's line much of the game. No one has really pushed UT's much maligned DL around. It has been mostly broken field plays that have killed UT in the run game.

and I know if we lose I can check on here late Saturday night and see some Fire Heupel threads and fans losing their minds.
Really? You "know" that? So far no one has done that. UT lost touch in the last qtr vs Bama and UF... no one did that. UT missed opportunities to beat both Pitt and OM... no one did that.

I'm with you, but not quite in the "Mizzou Camp". I think if we have our OL healthy, and Evans is likewise at full speed, then we give UK too many problems to solve. Defense is going to have to figure out a way to limit the QB's rushing yards. All of those chips fall into place, and I think we win.

I think I said 35-24 in another thread. But boy wouldn't I love to have to come back in here Sunday morning and congratulate you on being spot-on with your prediction.

Go Vols.

I agree ! I think they are also going to want revenge for last year's game. I think Kentucky might be in for a rough night tomorrow night

. You watch the threads on here Saturday night if we lose I guarantee there will be some delusional fans saying that and ranting and raving that Heupel isn’t the guy cause a Tennessee coach should never lose to Kentucky. Dooley lost to Kentucky got fired. Butch lost to Kentucky got fired. Pruitt lost to Kentucky got fired see a trend here? Kentucky has wins against our last three coaches.

Just a reminder we haven’t beat one team this season with a winning record
As others have pointed out, neither has UK. And there are 3 common opponents between them. UT dominated MU... UK struggled with them. UT dominated USCe... UK struggled with them. UT put themselves out of the UF game with mistakes but still had a good statistical day on O and for 3 days on D. UF put themselves out of the UK game with one mistake after another. UK's O was anemic in the game with only 224 total yds. UF outgained them 382-224. The difference in the game was a blocked FG return. UK had two drives of over 30 yds all day.

UT could blow this game like UF blew theirs... but UT should beat UK.

and haven’t beat a ranked team since 2018
Relevance? Does this team look or play like they're coached by Pruitt?
