I mean i think we all knew that this year was going to be a struggle. but dang it hurts seeing us get slammed by the national media saying how "terrible" we are. you would think they would have a little compasion for us seeing all the program has been through... but then again thats the nature of the beast. lets hope we at least put up a good showing against florida or our recruting is going to take a MASSIVE hit...as always...god big orange!

Yeah, I was just watching too. Funny how they talk about how dominating Oregon is, yet no one saw any of that until more than halfway through the third quarter after Dooley said UT gave up.

It won't change until we win.

Look at Michigan, they sucked for a few years and CRR had to answer all the negative questions day after day. Now he's answering questions about his 2-0 start, beating Notre Dame and how his QB is playing like a heisman candidate.

I can't wait for a couple years from now when Dooley is being asked if Bray will stick around for his Senior season...

Oregon is a good team, just not real good defensively. If Tennessee had any balance, they would have sweated Oregon.

so you would prefer if the media accounts said the reason why you got blown out was because your team gave up? interesting. . . speaks good of your coach huh?

I know the result last week was not what we all wanted. But I, as I think others, saw some promising things. Poole is a beast, the O-line is not too horrid, Defense can shut or slow teams down. It fell apart in third quarter with that pick 6 and they accepted defeat before final whistle is blown. Tennessee wasn't supposed to compete to be #1, but they can build back to where we are. If Simms can keep it together, they can exceed expectations, and it starts with Florida. Allthough, even if we beat them, all these media folks will just say how over rated Florida was to begin with.
Just try to put last week behind us and see that minus a few big plays, Tennessee did compete with one of the better teams in the country into the 3rd quarter. Next step is finish and we can all be proud again!

It really hasn't been that long since USC, Oklahoma and Alabama, among others were getting slammed too. And we will get it turned around as well.

However this showering thing is getting out of hand.

Unfortunately that did happen. It's not the coach though, it's the players. Yes, I know it comes from top down, but Dooley hasn't been around long enough to change that apparently.

I disagree. I think they are very good defensively but just had a bad scheme in the first half. They made good adjustments and then shut us down.

Why do people care what these so called experts think or say? Most of these people never even picked up a ball of any kind let alone played a competetive sport in their meaningless little lives.Pay no attention to Doyle, Forde, Basilio or any of the countless other hacks who think they know more than they actually do.Even the ones who claim to be Vol fans( looking at you Basilio)have nothing but negative things to say.

I dislike him just as much as the next guy but he was just doing what every commentator does. Jumps on the band wagon of whoever is winning.

so in summary what you guys would prefer is:

"oregon isn't very good, tenn is just terrible"

correct?

That's how THE MEDIA does it.

FYP.

If your going to post jabs unrelated to the topic then at least try to be intellectually honest and not so ideologically blind. Ironic considering that is exactly what you criticize FOX for. Congratulations you have zero credibility!

Bring them both a little more toward the middle. I take it you didn't watch the game. I suggest you do that.

They destroyed you once they got used to the atmosphere. there isn't an award for keeping it close at the half. if oregon is just pretty good you guys are in for a truly ugly season.
