Its the running game. Its straight up awful to be honest. No one can put this on Bray or the D. Tyler did very good IMO. When you lose your best WR and have no run game to balance out the offence and still throw for 200+ yards and 3 tds thats very good for a young inexperienced ( on the road) qb. We cant put all the pressure on the pass game or we will lose to sec defences! But GO VOLS!!!

I agree but whose fault is it? Coaches, RB's, talent on the line, youth on the line, or some combination of all 4? I'd almost rather see both FB's for a known 2 than what we are getting.

Some of us thought maybe we were hiding our running game until today.
It's apparent now, we just don't have one.
Gonna have to find one somewhere to compete with GA, SC, LSU , ARK or AL.

If UT doesn't find a way to run against quality opponents, this is a six win team at best. Said it before the season started... still true.

I have defended what Poole has done... but I don't really care who plays RB or on the OL. SOMEONE has to open a hole and SOMEONE needs to run through it.

I don't know where Schofield is. I do seem to remember that UT got push last year before he got injured. Maybe he isn't the answer... but the guys who are starting now don't seem to be.

Is it the scheme? UT's OL seems to catch the defense rather than driving them...

This has to change quick.

You can't fix a non existing running game in two weeks. It may take another year or two to get a running game back.

Lead blocking has been as bad as the line. They are all still young so they will get better. Hopefully it won't take long....

The line is still only sophomores.

But when you are multiple scores down, with best passing attack in the league, you are going to pass, not run

Gonna hand this one to the coaches or just say it is really not anyone's fault? UT has the worst running game in the SEC. Fact. How is it that EVERYONE else can run the ball better? I guess because they played worse teams than we have and all that.

Stop wearing the orange colored glasses. DD is the man and I support him, but this has got to be addressed.

with a running game this team could be 8-4 or even 9-3, but if they don't find one we will be lucky to go 6-6

Not trying to be a negavol, as I will be believing every game for a win, but the OP is right

Yep. That sums it up for me. Lots of positive but big gaps between us and the elite teams. Long way to go. Tough game. I've lost another couple years of my life. Gotta figure out a way to watch the Vols and not stress like I do. It just can't be healthy.

you're 100% right...our 'lack' of a running game let florida score 30+ points.....

we ran it on florida better than i imagined we would....down from the start, what did you expect? us to run it every drive??

As bad as we suck in the running game and have sucked for several years why don't we run the spread offense. It is obvious we cannot run the pro set !!!

1. Get drunk early....
2. pass out before the game begins
3. Watch the game on replay after you know the ending score

It starts with the OL. They have to create a push and open some holes up.

started to post this after the cincy game.if any can remember or care to go back and watch it again.when we went for it on those 4th and short and on goal line when bray sneaked it.the o line fired off the ball and pushed.take notice on other running plays.when we had lineman with no one lined in front of them, when the ball was snapped on a lot of running plays they seemed to just stand there and wait for players to some to them.i am no football guru but i thought you had to be the aggressor or instigate the contact when trying to force the run.idk, maybe things have changed and there is a different philoshy now?:unsure:GO VOLS ! we are young and we will get better, trying to be patient.
