Univ. Of TN was established over 50 years before Texas was a state. THE UT!
Not to mention Davy Crockett and Tennesseans having to go down there and show the example of what Volunteer courage under fire is about. The University of Tennessee was actually founded 2 years even before Tennessee became a state.
It was originally chartered as Blount College in 1794, while Tennessee didn't gain statehood as the 16th state until 1796. And IIRC, we're the oldest secular institution west of the Appalachians. So we've been around a while. Texas can go urinate up a rope. We're the real UT and the #1 fanbase in the world.
True. I went to a game at OU once. It was fun and everyone was nice but it was nothing special. A&M would get my vote for coolest place to see a game. Everyone was super nice, I’ve never seen an entire crowd coordinated as well as theirs and consistent throughout the game, and even their band at halftime is cool. Plus, they have a great time after the game no matter what and even with opposing fans. I went with some Nebraska fans to see the Huskers play there back when both were in the Big 12. The fans were a big reason the experience was so good so I go with the Aggies. Right behind us that is but I could be a little bias.I find that to be very much true.
