I'm giving CJH a break for this recruiting season, so this year filling critical needs will most likely come from the portal. He and the staff will be under pressure to have a very good recruiting season come Dec. 2022.

Yes, it is hard to recruit with the NCAA cloud hanging. Just try to do okay this cycle and then hope to pick it up after the decision is handed down.

He has done an outstanding job this season, and he gets the benefit of the doubt from me.

I though Heupel was another Dooley type desperation hire. Now, I'm beginning to hope.
why would you think Huepel was anywhere near a Dooley hire even before this. Huepel has a winning track record Dooley was sitting at a desk.

The bad thing is the NCAA hasn't even started looking at it. From what I read it could be 3-5 *years* before they actually do. That's a ton of cloud hanging. That being said, I don't think they're going to do anything more than we do. All the players and coaches that were involved are gone.

You could be right…and I hope so.

Getting to a bowl game this season should help us some.

Pruitt stunk at development. Heupel had turned Tillman and Jackson into star players. Pruitt couldn’t improve JG no matter how many he played.
Dooley - huge ego, thought he knew it all
Jones - huge ego, not bright but more self-aware
Pruitt - huge ego, dumb as a rock
Heupel - no ego, all about the team, wants others to be successful
Not hard to figure out why things are going well.

Recruiting HAS to pick up. You can coach em up all day, but 3 star recruit laden teams don’t win SEC titles. You can talk about stargazing all you want, but coaching is 25% of the equation, talent is 75%.

Gameday coaching is maybe 10% of wins. Coaching with regard.to running the program is.much more important. This is why Saban can plug and.play different guys on his staff.

Talent is definitely 50% of the equation...but they still have to be coached and developed. Look at LSU and Florida for proof of talent laden teams that sre very poorly coached.

Maybe, just maybe, this 1st season of CJH, can recruit itself. Not saying that 5* players would love to jump on board, but maybe some marginal 4* will. A program that was still in turmoil when he got here, and the transfer portal was draining the team quickly. The result on the field just may open some players eyes, who had written UT football off as a destination.

Start winning and everyone wants in on the action, hard to understand, no?

Only if there is a blizzard in Cuba. We have ZERO, ZILCH, NADA, NONE, NO chance of beating UGA. We will be 7-5 with a chance to win a bowl game to go 8-5. That is the ceiling....
well if you go in with that attitude just quit now, lets play the game first

Sorry but your math is off just a little bit. College football is made up of:

33% recruiting
33% player development
33% in game coaching
1% lady luck

Fulmer stunk at in game coaching
Dooley stunk at recruiting and coaching and development
Jones stunk at player development
Pruitt stunk at coaching

To date, Hype-all has shown he can develop and coach in game. He doesnt have a reputation as a great recruiter but he has a lot of hurdles to overcone.
I think Pruitt...I'm sorry I mean "Cornbread" stunk at everything.

Anyone see the blizzard in Cuba? We have a little, not much, but a slight hope, a punchers chance of beating UGA. We will possibly be 7-5 with a chance to win a bowl game to go 8-5. But 9-3 IS possible. 10-3 winning a bowl. And THAT is the ceiling....

Dooley always reminded me of that son in Smokey and the Bandit, the sheriff's idiot son. I'm thinkin that's probably how Vince Dooley treats Derek. F&*(*ing Rommel, what a friggin maroon.

Spot on. Been saying this since day one - Heupel is the real deal. We’ll be a perennial top 15 team by year three. Tennessee football is fun again!

Paging VolsSportsFan. Paging VolsSportsFan…. Where are you??? Running away from our wager?
