Hubbs says he doesn't think he's a candidate, but who knows? Brown was in town for a conference, and visited the UT complex today.

not really ties but brown was born in cookeville so i think that's a plus for him. also, i go to tennessee tech and have gotten the vibe that he likes where he is at right now. he would have had a good season if it wasn't for his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string qb's getting injured early in the year.

The fact that jackass was let inside a UT facility shows the diminishing standards in Knoxville.

He's got an extremely awful record as a head coach. Are his offenses deceptively good or something?

I would have loved to see his candy Vanderbilt a$$ walk into a UT football facility while George Cafego was alive. Watson would have been in need of some immediate reconstructive dentistry.

OOOOOOOOOOOO no no no no no no. Watson is old and a never has been. IMO his overated brother is the reason why Watson is coaching. Id rather have Smokey be our OC.

For someone who upon the day he was fired from Vanderbilt (who was crying in the process), I certainly would question his loyalty at UT. If he's there for an interview, UT is in dire straits IMO.

I think it was more a matter of, "I was in the neighborhood and just wanted to say hi." No way on God's green earth that Watson ever call a play for Tennessee.

Does Watson Brown have ties to Tech? He was born and raised in Cookeville, Tn. My mom went to high school with him. I would think he enjoys being back home.

99 out of his last 100, hat. Not saying he should be an OC (although I'm pretty sure GQ wouldn't go scoreless in the second half in 3 games), but there's no way you can convince me that Quarles wouldn't be at least on par (if not better) than Matt Luke or Roper. And Fulmer shouldn't have insulted GQ with a measely grad asst. position when the guy probably knows as much football as those clowns that Cutty brought in.

If he's so insulted by the offer, he can stay the hell in Murrrvulll and keep mowing fields and washing practice uniforms. I don't see BCS schools lining up at his door to hand him a job. Just another arrogant Gym Class Hero who thinks winning games in front of parents and no lifers on Friday means something.
