what??? The guy is a unanimous pick for NBA Hall of Fame! Anything you say from now on I feel like I need to take with a HUGE grain of salt.
Scottie Pippen has many accomplishments:
1. Most steals by a 3 guard (NBA record)
2. Most assists by a 3 guard (NBA record)
3. Most steals in the playoffs (NBA record)
4. Most 3s made during an NBA finals game (NBA record)
5. 10 NBA all-defensive honors (2nd ever)
6. 8 NBA all-defensive FIRST TEAM honors (2nd ever)
7. The year Michael Jordan retired, Scottie Pippen had his best year of all time. He was the All-Star game MVP. He led the league in assists, steals, and averaged 22 points per game.
That's not to mention winning SIX NBA Championships. Give me a break, you are delusional.
this is just ridiculous. Pippen was never a great front man on the offensive end, but could get to the hole, dunk on anybody, rebound extremely well at the 3 and was one of the best defenders of our lifetime. Jordan was clearly the man, but having Pippen allowed them to play the defense that won for them. He could guard every position but the 5. In fact, Jordan didn't start bringing home rings until Pippen started showing up in the playoffs. Pippen and Harper were the defensive backbone and allowed Jordan to play less than disciplined D a lot. I'm not a Pippen fan, but he was a bit more than an also ran.
Did you just credit scottie pippen for winning 6 rings without tossing any qualifying phrases in there? you, my friend, are delusional. Pippen was a good defensive player, and was good at finishing on the fast break. Let's not go any farther than that.
Pippen was a great defender, period. A game changing style defender and there aren't very many of them. It helped that he passed well, could handle the point, rebound from the 3 as well as just about anyone and could get to the hole well. His weakness was his shooting, but it improved over time. Without a defender of his caliber, Jordan isn't walking around with 6 rings today either.
Can we all agree that Toni Kukoc and Luc Longley were the unsung heros of at least the 1996 team?
