Well the facts and stats showed ME that our Defense is the ONLY reason we were even close in alotta games. Shoop's Defense held about half of the games to low scoring, close games. Some games turned to bad losses towards the end of games when the D was gassed from our garbage Offense doing 3andOut after 3andOut after 3andOut, which had the D on the field quite a bit. And Shoop/Warren took a young Secondary without much star power, and they turned into a solid position group for us overall. And the rumors were, that Butch forced Shoop's hand on running certain Defensive sets sometimes during the game. And last point - our Defense actually provided sum defensive TDs, and outscored our Offense at times, ha. Shoop is a solid Coordinator. Look at our Secondary's nationally ranked stats. And Shoop's first yr, Kirkland Jr, Sutton, Reeves-Maybin, Sapp, and Martin were ALL hurt and out for the majority of the season which didn't allow Shoop to show what he can do with top talent AND playcalling freedom. Give Shoop and Charleton Warren a year with the new Head Coach to see what they can do, THEN make a decision on them. Not many better DC out there that'd be available anyhow. Maybe "The Chief"! We could bring Chavis back. Never a bad option there. We'll see....

They just won't sign up. Let alone a good coach is probably not going to buy that clause to start with so that leaves you with someone that is unproven at best.

If it is Schiano, I guess his pitch to Currie was "I may be an a-hole, but on the plus side you can't say 100% that I knew about Sandusky".
