Watching Vols Internationally?

I'll be moving to Chiang Mai Thailand in the next few months. Just wondering if anyone knows if the games are streamed online (live or an archived broadcast)?

I guess you know your a hardcore vol fan when your bummed that you'll be missing out on vol football when they'll be in their prime.

Check out WatchESPN. Since it includes all the ESPN channels, including SECNetwork, it'll cover all but a few of our games this year (those being aired by CBS).

CBS might have a similar online app/program/offer.

Visited Chiang Mai back in the Eighties on a tour of Thailand with my brother.
Nice place. Much less crowded than the big cities.
Visit the elephant farm if you get a chance.
The handlers will let you feed them a banana or two if you like.
We declined the elephant ride.
Great seafood. I recommend the prawns.
Stay out of Bangkok unless you love never-ending traffic jams.
But you can walk to anywhere that's worth going.

Cbssports.com streams their game of the week for free. No cable sub needed.

You may need some kind of region blocker like Hotspot Shield installed in case the services don't stream in Thailand.

Region blocker ... I've heard of this, and would want to have access to American Netflix. Is it just a program you download?

I did Thailand in '72. I went back as a civilian 6 years ago. The railroad remains undone. They are still laying Thais.

Get Kodi and the Sportsdevil addon. It works on any platform, the streams have zero ads, and there are hundreds of "How To" videos on Youtube. You can also
stream live ESPN/2, Fox Sports, etc. in addition to movies and TV series.

WatchESPN is only available to subscribers of "participating providers." You have to log into your DirectTV, Comcast, Charter, etc account through the app to access their content.

Welcome to Thailand. Lived in Saipan for over 6 yrs now. Stream2Watch sports is the website that I am using. It is free and they show ALL the sports. You can msg me at the time you want to view them and I will try to help you.

1. A region unblocker is a program you can download. Usually people use a VPN, which changes or hides your IP address. There are lots of different ones for free or otherwise. The free ones usually throttle your internet speed pretty badly though. When I'm abroad (or sometimes when I'm in the US even), I use a VPN called Private Internet Access that allows you, among other things, to switch your location to various countries. It's $4 a month. A really popular one that doesn't slow your internet speeds at all (since it isn't really a VPN, per se...it just changes your DNS settings instead of hiding your IP address to fool streaming sites) is called unblockus. It's also about $5 a month.

2. Netflix, sadly, has recently cracked down on unblockers. You can use your Netflix account in other countries and have access to their Netflix library (which usually isn't too bad anyway), but using a VPN or proxy will cut off your access (at least for shows that are region blocked in your area...I've had some success using a VPN and still getting access to Netflix original programs and movies).

3. I tried Kodi and found the video quality to be severely lacking. If you want to watch games in HD, use a VPN that doesn't throttle your internet speeds and borrow login information from someone with an ESPN subscription.

LOL Most people don't complain about Free when they're out of the country. Kodi has plenty of content that you can stream at 720/1080p,
but most of the sports streams are ~800x600 which is more than adequate for a laptop or tablet.

Besides, not all UT's games going to be carried by the SEC Network.

It's an old saying but SOOOO true still. Our cab driver we hired while we were there kept tossing books of various young ladies & men that looked like young ladies to stay with us overnight. Wifey is a retired veteran herself and it was her first trip to Thailand but she was not prepared for the onslaught of very attractive women ready to go!! If you don't get laid in Thailand it's because you don't want to.

I have lived in ireland for 10 years and have missed very few games. Espn player has been great the last few but with the addition of sec network they don't show as many. Try frontrowsports.eu.

You say hardcore fan when the vols are in their prime, try staying up till 6am gmt to watch our beloved vols in the Dooley years.

I get that it's a picky complaint. But even the free CBS streams last year I could get in HD and with my set up I get all games carried by ESPN and CBS in HD (which is much nicer when I have my laptop connected to a TV). Most of the streams I found on Kodi weren't terrible, but I have a gigabit speed connection and prefer to take advantage of it. Personally I'd rather pay a modest fee to get games in HD. I guess I'm just spoiled though :p

Depending on the time of year, it's 13-14 hour difference in Japan (no daylight savings here). I feel your pain. I'm not sure if I hate the noon or 3 o'clock kick offs more.

Last time I was deployed, I emailed UT and they sent us Dvd's of the games the week after they were played. You just have to avoid any news about the game until it's in hand.

Firstrowsports.eu has worked pretty well for me on my deployments, just get a pop-up blocker and you're good to go.

Get the add on Add block plus, blocks all pop ups, and youtube etc... Kills advertising, I use rajangan to watch the streams

ESPN is banned in Thailand. I work here and deal with this via VPN and other means. If the OP wants to find out more, PM me.
