I was bored earlier and decided to pop in the Fiesta Bowl DVD.

Randy Sanders acted more nervous in this game than any coach I have ever seen.

Has anyone worn shoulder pads as big as Al Wilson since he left? He looks huge out there.

Has anyone ever counted how many players on the team were drafted or played in the NFL?

I don't think it ever gained yardage but I had forgotten we called a few option plays in that game.

Travis Stephens looks funny when ever I see him in #25.

I will always remember the pick-six by Dwayne Goodrich. That play gives me chills to this day. What a waste that he ended up the way he did.

I watched it the other night on VHS. One of my favorites quotes from Jackson was

" There is trouble and it's trouble in the form of Eric Westmoreland." just after a big stop.

Then when we knocked them out of Field Goal range:

" Daaaaaaarrrwwwiiiiiinnnnn Walkeerrrrrrr"

Then the one we will always remember:

"There's a ball going down the sideline....it's caught. Peerless Price. It's touchdown! There are no flags."

I've got the ABC version. Is there a John Ward version?

DesTiny, by the Vol Network has the Ward version. It is only on VHS to my knowledge. I watched the tape the other day to help cope with the one month away madness.

Ah, I do have that. I have that in my stack of VHS tapes that need to be copied to DVD.

I have a copy of the televised version, pregame, commercials, post game, post game on the strip, etc.

The coolest game I have is the '86 Sugar Bowl, with John Ward doing the pregame from Bourbon Street, the highlights of each game in '85, best plays of '85 (biggest hit, best pass, best run), etc. All the commercials are included, like the "Give me a light...No, Bud light"....

Old commercials are great sometimes. I watched the 85 Bama game yesterday (I'll be returning your games first part of the week btw. Thank you!). Kodiak tobacco commercials, a Miller Lite commercial with Bobby Bonds, and a South Central Bell commercial with Captain Janeway as the spokesperson.

Thanks! What about the UT version?
I think you can still buy it in the online Vol Store. It's called Destiny and it is a condensed version of the game with John Ward making the calls.

Keith Jackson called that game also. i forget who but somebody asked Jackson who he thought would win b4 the game and from what I have heard, he looked shocked that someone could ask such a question. He thought that the Canes would win in a blowout. I would have loved to see the look on his face when he saw Powell break through the Miami D to run for 45 + yards.

I just watched it tonight, too. The first hour was John Ward on Bourbon St. recalling all of the highlights of the '85 season. Then it was Jimmy Johnson, Vinny Testeverde, Highsmith, etc. talking about how they deserved to be #1........you know, if they beat Tennessee. Barry Switzer had the best answer..."Well, Florida beat Miami, so I believe Florida should be ranked #1." This went on for a while. Then, the players took the field and when Tennessee's band broke out of the "T", the place went nuts. Jackson said, "And it looks like Tennessee fans are gonna outnumber the Miami fans, probably, 10 to 1."

If you watch it again, you'll see the Miami players at midfield when the band forms the "T". They didn't move and taunted our players.

I'm sending my VHS off to IE to get transformed to DVD. PM me if you want a copy. My BloodRunnethOrange is also transforming the '90 Florida game to DVD for me.

I've got the Sugarvols DVD so don't need the Sugar Bowl one. Wouldn't mind having the Florida game sent to me though.
