That’s why the NFL rule is different. So a defender can’t just cop out by committing a penalty once they realize they’re getting beat on a deep pass (especially one likely to be a TD).If the pass interference penalty was a spot foul in college, like it is in the NFL, WSU would be in field goal range right now. It was actually pretty smart of Ole Miss to interfere there.
Meanwhile, college DBs are sort of taught to do so.
