Sorry if already discussed:

At about the 7:12 mark in the 2nd quarter with the score tied at 14, Dobbs gets flushed to his left and makes a poor decision to throw back across his body.

He tries the thread two defenders, the ball gets tipped, ricochets off of a Tennessee player, bounces around and ends up in Jalen Hurd's hands as he powers forward across the line to gain.

The pass is ruled incomplete, but VT is flagged for roughing the passer on the play so the penalty gives Tennessee a first down anyway.

I never saw a replay angle of this play, but real time I thought it was an "immaculate reception" -type play. Did anyone get a better look and was it indeed a no-catch?

Looked like a catch to me, but with the penalty it didn't matter. I think they would have reviewed it and called it a catch.

I should add, I also wondered why there was no review? If there was no roughing call does the play then get reviewed?

whoever first made contact with the ball caught it while it touched the ground. He kind of flipped it around over the top of him in the process and the ball went into hurds hands. At first I thought it was a catch and was pissed that they didnt replay but RTP was called so I got off my high horse.

I think they showed a replay and ball did hit the ground. Can't remember 100% clearly though. Good thing it didn't matter. Lol

I thought an offensive lineman was on the ground and popped it up into Hurds hands? I was curious of the same thing, had the penalty not stood.

They would have reviewed it but they were waiting on us to run another successful play first........ even though that's clearly against the rules.

Hit the ground then into lineman's hands on longer replay, then he threw it up. Blatant when they show the whole thing.

I thought I saw the same thing as you. Looked like Hurd caught the ball and it never hit the ground, but it never mattered due to the penalty. I don't think they showed any more replays after that, so difficult to know for sure.

They called it incomplete then next thing I knew it was 1st down at the 11. I thought they must have changed it to complete! Just now found out there was a penalty!! Couldn't see much from Richard Petty Terrace Row 25, but wouldn't trade being there for anything!! That was ONE FUN WEEKEND!!
