Let's hope if it did happen that it was for something relatively minor.....like theft of the football from the receiver.

There will be people jumping to conclusions because of this thread, and nothing has been released yet. Sometimes, in cases of rumors like this, it's better to sit on information than to come plaster it on a message board. Obviously, OV you saw it on another site first, so my comments aren't directed at you directly.

plus, at least when it happened to me, you just get a ticket from the cop so I doubt he got arrested

If true, sounds like he was a college kid being the typical college kid. Hopefully that's it and Dooley can now offer some extra incentive for him to work his butt off over the summer.

What was posted on TOS was that he was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest... And if true, then also underage drinking would be added. Just passing on what I read over there.

You never like seeing the resisting charge being thrown around. But then again, resisting arrest to the KPD could be not placing your hands on a hot hood fast enough.

I wonder if the poster that posted that is either the arresting officer, one of Darren's parents, or the booking officer of the jail. I would say this is third hand info at best, and if you pay attention to the OP on the other site at this point, you maybe setting yourself up for some ridicule in the end. Let things play out, and go out and stop worrying about a college kid, Dooley will handle this, no matter the situation or charges. I would also be willing to bet it doesn't happen again.

Disorderly conduct and underage drinking

The first charge can be thrown around more loosely than "probable cause". The second is pretty common. New kid on campus, having some fun. No big deal, so long as he is level headed enough to slow his roll a bit. He's got 2 options, A) The end of that. Hell make better decisions and think about what he's doing. Or B) hell have another incident before fall officially have a problem. Listen to your coaches Darren, their telling you the right thing!! Good luck to all these young men, God knows its not easy to manage their "plate".

Im not saying that the OP is correct... just passing on what was said over there. No way it was a family member or someone within the program, so it was most likely third hand or they saw it happen.

They don't exactly announce to the public what some is being arrested for, while it's happening.

Not necessarily. Back in my younger dumber days I got arrested for public intoxication and they did not charge me with underage drinking.

I hope it's not true, but if it is I hope our players take note. According to dawg post Mettenberger has just been kicked off because he didn't learn his lesson the first time.
