On this day in...

1978 More than 900 people died in Jonestown, Guyana, after Peoples Temple cult leader Jim Jones urged them to kill themselves by drinking cyanide-laced grape punch. Jones died of a bullet wound to the head; whether it was self-inflicted is unknown.

It is one of the peculiarities of popular culture that fanbases so flippantly refer to their willingness to 'drink the Koolaid', when the reality of that kitchy little phrase's birth is so tragic...

Thought for the day....

Someone tell me a good coaching rumor now...

With that post, one would think that over half the Nation would be dead now after being led to believe we had a chance coming into this year.

Ok, forget Jonestown. One of you insiders give me info about the new coach! Just the facts, sir.

I watched that documentary the other night. The audio of him telling people to kill thmeselves was scary/sad. He thought he had it figured out. They interviewed a guy whose wife killed herself and all their children. Sundrop is the stuff we are drinking.

Methinks, having just four months ago read on here how UT would win the SECE and maybe make a BCS run, that your warning is a wee bit late.
