I love the idea of CJP wants to take our offense. He wants it to be a tough, strong, run it down your throat and pass if you feel like it offense.

One big problem with that mentality is we don't have the Jimmy and Joe's to do it on the OL right now.

Freeze has been able to do more with less just by scheming the offense to make do with what he had. He has done it at more than one stop along the way.

It could be perfect timing for all involved.

If you hire Freeze and he improves our offense next year (and hopefully the year after) with less while we are acquiring Jimmy's and Joe's, when he leaves we would then be able to adjust more to what CJP wants to do.

He could possibly be the perfect stop gap between where we are now and where we want to be in the future.

I could see our offense being much better next year, which takes the pressure off what I believe to be a decent defense, which would put us in closer games where we were blown out this year, with an offense that has the ability to put a drive together and win a game late.

All the while proving to recruits we are serious about getting to the top.

I really am warming up to the idea of Freeze being our next OC.

The biggest plus I see about a Freeze hire is to help recruiting. Realistically, he is likely to be gone after exactly 2 years. Thats when TN should be competing for the East at least and it will be a strong turn around for his resume, with the violation stuff behind him. So besides his game day scheming, which is a big deal no doubt since it lets Pruitt focus on defense - the main key to success is the 50 new guys we are going to get in the next 2 years.

Getting Freeze makes it all the more likely that the very top targets are going to come here for both sides of the line. Get your superstar Jimmes and Joes trained up right and then by the time Freeze leaves to take over another HC position, maybe someone like Friend can step up to continue it or we can more easily get another top OC. But by then the main foundation would have been set.

Rumor has it Randy Boyd is interfering with the hiring of Freeze.
