Should I buy a PS3 just to get the player?

I doubt I play many games on it. I have 360 and play it a lot.

I just want to know if there is a nice priced BRP I can buy or do I need to get the PS3?

You can get a blu ray player for 150 or less. No need to buy a 300 dollar machine for that.

No idea. However, I think you'll see lots of $150 or slightly below players between now and Christmas.

CBC I see that you use Netflix a lot... There is a Blu-player that also uses Netflix out there.

I think I saw that one. U have a link to it?

Streaming Netflix is one of the better ideas to come around in recent years. I have watched a ton of t.v. shows that I would never have watched otherwise.

I agree... Zune is adding the same thing to Xbox Live in the next update. Before I got ban.... I was apart of the early release on the new update for Facebook, Twitter and Zune. As for the Zune deal it will have more newer released movies (rental base per movie price) than Netflix will.

I don't understand why Netflix will not add newer movies to the instant watch deal. I would pay a few dollars more for that feature if they did. Personally I only see it as a positive for them! Look at all the postage they could save if you could watch new release movies. I just an average Joe though.....

  • Charge more money for new release
  • Save money on postage
  • Save money on disc damage

I agree smoke. They would save so much in expenses if they moved new movies to be streamed. Not only are you talking about postage saved, but how about the wear and tear on the disc that they send out. Also not having to buy so many disc to send out, they would save a lot of money imo

so what kind of movies can you stream on netflix? how long before a movie goes to the stream list after its released? is it all just 5+ year old movies that you can stream?

It's mainly older movies but they do put a few newer released movies up for a certain time period to keep the villagers happy. I'd say 2 to 3 year old movies you can watch instantly is a good rule of thumb.

If they put all new relase movies on streaming the subscriptions would ALL go down to the 8$/month. Not to mention the time it takes to encode, the cost of the server, etc.

the ps3 player is one of the best blue ray players around. it also does a great job on upsizing regular dvds. worth the money IMO.

I'm still curious how well the party feature works on Live for Netflix. If you got two different connections speeds it seems like there would be a lot of buffering.
