Can someone say what is Kiffin's stratagy for QB this season and next? I mean why would you keep Crompton on the field? why not give Stephens a chance? at least rotate them in series......

I will say it again....Kiffin, did not make the effort to try and keep Coleman as an alternative, becasue he already had a plan that did not include Coleman or Stephens!.

Letting Coleman quit, without even making an effort to keep him, is another point to consider....

Last night Coleman was 23 out of 30, with 4 TD's...... Yes against a Div II team, that ranked #17 in the nation....

I can assure you this.... The crowd ( X10 smaller) in Chattanooga are not all over the coach or the QB.....

BJ is playing and Stephens is not.....

Yep, I drank the Coleman Cool Aide... Kiffin should have too! At least Coleman had potential, and three more years to develop it....

I think I'll take my chances on the Bray-aid...although I'm glad Coleman has found a place

You have some flaws in your thinking.

1) Nobody let's someone quit. Quitting is something you do all on your own. Coleman made that decision. If Kiffin kicked him off the team, then you would have an argument.

2) Coleman's ability is probably better than D-2 but not quite D-1 yet. The team he beat would still get waxed by 40 points against a team like UT. Remember how Cropmton looked against WKU. They were D-2 last year and a lot of us thought maybe he had fixed his problems. He hadn't it was the talent level he was playing against.

3) Two starting qbs = no starting qbs. Rotating qbs is the fastest way to disaster.

4) If everyone knew Kiffin was so set on Crompton, why didn't Stephens look to transfer also? I'm sure there is a D-2 school out there that would have taken him.

Wow---better get ready for the boos! You know you can't post anything positive about Coleman in here. BTW, I think you are spot on. Kiffin has been dead set on Senior QB Crompton---he wants to get HIS guy in, so we need not look for Stephens---EVER. Kiff seems willing to sacrifice this season for his "plan". Seems a shame since Monte is doing a stellar job and we can't expect too many more years with Monte. Dangerous ground --IMO--the team could tank on him. You can pound your head against a brick wall only so many times.

Thanks Johnwardforever..... glad to see that some vol fans have a reasoning mind..... As an admitted BJ fan, I wanted him to be the starting QB for UTK long before he left for obvious reasons. so obvious to some but not to others....

Yes I followed BJ to Chattanooga and we Loving it! What an arm that kid has got, and he is a leader... Coach Huesman could not have gotten a better gift to start his rebuilding of a -11 team......
UT-Chattanooga could go 7-4 or 8-3 this year.... all on the arm of BJ....

Maybe , BJ might even take UT-chattanooga to the national championship by his senior year.

When will we not be in a rebuilding year?
It's a two year rebuilding period....That's why most people are expecting us to be A LOT better by 2011...I'm sorry though, I know the boys could have played better but its hard for me to be pissed off about a loss yesterday like some people are...It wasn't the prettiest but a W is a W

Who cares what Coleman does at UTC. Look at what he did vs Hargrave in a JV game, that did not translate to Saturday's.

Look at what Brent Schaeffer did the year after he left UT. Look what he did when he came back to Ole Miss...the lower levels of football DOES NOT translate to playing in the SEC.

Even not so great SEC talent is better than good lower level talent....BJ

IMO - BJ WAS NOT THE ANSWER!

You can lay the blame for the rebuilding at Fulmers feet. He is the one who left us with the QB situation and the OL depth problems. Kiffin is doing the best he can with what he's got. Patience my young padawans!! Rome wasnt built in a day

I wouldn't count on 2010 being much better than this year. Rather, I'd look ahead to 2011. Next year we'll either start Stephens or Bray, the offensive line will be young and thin, and line backers will be the same. I think overall the defense will be solid again next year but you can't win games if you can't score. If we keep our recruting class together and get Bray prepared, I think 2011 will be the breakout season for Kiffin and Co.

Not to mention that BJ grew up with orange blood and dreamed of being the UT QB. Very intelligent and athletic-----BJ is not a Quitter---a man has to consider his future, and Kiffin made it very clear it wasn't at Tennessee. There is a lot to be said about an in-state guy that loves UT----ala Al Wilson.

I grew up with orange blood in my veins, but you dont want me at QB, maybe linebacker. By the way, COLEMAN QUIT THE VOLS, not the other way around.

On #2---football is football---Throw and catch--which UT struggles at.

ON #4---Stephens THOUGHT he was competing for the job. Erroneously.

I'm all for putting a spin on something....but give it up. Coleman quit.....he packed his bags and left.

He thought he was doing what was best for him....but he DID quit.

Didn't see anything about someone being pissed about the W. I think SOME of us actually realize we could be celebrating another win or two this season---Memp and Vandy-(maybe). :)

Its called "rebuilding" for a reason

When will we not be in a rebuilding year?

What I meant was I've heard the "young and rebuilding" excuse for several years. How long is the rebuilding project going to take?

I truly hope all the staff changes this year will make the difference.

Some of the posts on here though man, you wouldn't think we won the game, its the same thing every week.."Crompton sucks" or "We need a QB", its a well-known fact we fans are just beating a dead horse is all I'm saying, that comment wasn't directed towards you about being pissed about a W

Oh good! I am happy to know someone was paying attention when they hired Kiffin and his staff. It was well known that this is a two to three year project to get in top recruits for more than just ONE signing class. I think some people missed this and were expecting the Vols to be in the SEC Championship game this year.

Personally I also didn't have high expectations for this year, or even next year to be honest. We all knew who our QB choices were for this year and we have a pretty good idea of the choices for next year as well. Some things take time, but some people don't want to accept this.

I agree, some of these fans have no idea of what they are talking about. This program can not be truned around over night or in 8 months or 2 years. The team was left in very poor shape and it will take time, 2 YEARS IMO before Ut can be competive again. With that said. GO VOLS!
