If the BIG ORANGE can keep their focus, there is no reason they should lose another regular season game. They have so many players yet to be utilized, etc. Kamara, Merritt, TE's, most opponents will have difficulty predicting what to expect offensively. Defensively the VOLS have multiple players yet to go any valuable minutes, making D-line able to rotate players for the first time during the Butch Jones era. And what about Danny O'Brien. What a monster! He has got to be the most improved player on defense. Sutton looks like an NFL star. Bama had better look out, as well as Fl, Ga, and A&M. It's going to be a memorable year. Go Freaking Vols.:salute::salute::salute::salute::salute::salute:

I really love the optimisim but pump the brakes and come back to reality. This team, as it stands right this moment, is not ready to be a championship level team. Bama looks much better on both sides of the ball than we do. TAMU is no longer a game in which I locked as a win. UF will be very hard to beat. This team has a lot of work to do to be considered an elite team. Hopefully the team figures it all out before we start conference play.

Eight victories in a row has me thrilled as a lifelong Vol fan. It's been too long (1998) since Tennessee has enjoyed such a streak.

We have work to do, improvements to make and ghosts (long losing streaks to UF and Bama) to conquer.

Enjoy this win, Vol Nation!

Shy Tuttle was a bright spot. Everything else was painful to watch. Without Tech fumbling on virtually every play the second half, this game would have been very close.

Should have, would have, it doesn't matter. We won the game and covered the spread. 2-0 is all that matters. Move on to the next game.

It does matter when you look to the rest of the schedule. If you feel great about this team then more power to you. If we continue on this path we will lose 4-5 games.

Most of the improvement needs to be made up front with the OL. Run blocking is almost nonexistent. The pass protection is atrocious with breakdowns against 3 or 4 rushers which forces Dobbs to tuck and run. Now granted he's had some success with that but the opposing defenses they're about to face are considerably better than the units we've seen the first 2 games.

Then there's the play calling problem. A lingering issue that will hurt this team further down the road. This isn't Debord playing it close and being vanilla.

*Whine* if VT would have held on to the ball they would have won the game. (Well no sh*t our defense was smothering them and was causing fumbles directly and indirectly) IT'S PART OF THE GAME! Should we have fumbled it right back to them and said "no we want to win a different way"...VN is joke some times. Yes our offense still wasn't the best but you could see improvement from game 1 to game 2. It will only continue to improve. Our defense is nasty and is what will win us games this year.

Glad they are playing but for the 2nd week in a row our opposition committed Harakiri in front of us. Hope our SEC schedule does the same!

After watching Florida play this weekend there is no way this UT team beats them unless miracles happen on the offense.

So you saw no improvement at all?

Not enough to feel good about our upcoming games. Our passing game is flat out embarrassing. No catches for Josh Smith or P Williams, waaaay too many screens to RBs. It's boring, unimaginative, and easy to defend. Hurd looks serviceable, nothing more, and the entire offense depends on the opposing DE making a bad read and Dobbs keeping it for a long gain. DeBord is terrible. So much talent on the offensive side of the ball going to waste. Like another poster said after the Appy game - why would any WR recruit come here? You really wonder why Tee Higgins committed to Clemson?

What?? Have you forgotten who's left on our schedule? Unless we get much, much, much better we'll struggle to go 2-2 vs the tough 4 game SEC stretch beginning here in a couple weeks. This team, as it's currently playing, has zero chance to stay within two touchdowns of Alabama.

As Kippy Brown just said on Doug Mathews show, if not for the 5 turnovers by VT, only two of which we forced, last night's game vs VT was a tossup in VT's favor.

This game moves us to 2-0 in non-conference play. We are still 0-0 in the SEC. Did we play better? Yes, but let's not over-inflate the importance to the goal of winning the SEC East. We have learned to stay competitive and rally from behind, but there is much work to do.
