Should Peyton be in front of Vince Young?

(I'm not trying cause a riot, but VY was a great college QB)

his stat's speak for themself. 37-2 as a starter, heisman winner, 2 national championships (and a first down away from a 3rd). you could argue he had great talent around him, but peyton and vince had great talent too.

More like 1.5 championships but who's counting. He was obviously great but Peyton or Vince did not have the weapons that Leinart did.

I get tired of hearing that USC won 2 and almost 3 national championships in a row. Remember LSU???

USC was a pretty dominant fixture in the BCS hunt for the last few years. But for the inexplicable failure to show up against UCLA, they would have been right there in the mix this past year.

They've been the most prominent and consistent team since about 2001.

there have been split national champions for decades now. just because the computers screwed em out of the title game (remember they were #1 in BOTH polls) that doesn't mean they weren't deserving. Texas' recruiting was just as good as SCs (maybe even better) from 2002-2005.

I'm joking about the 1.5 championships but in the BCS era the BCS champ is the real champ.

Recruiting rankings aside USC's skill players were much better than Texas'

Texas leading rb's were Jamaal Charles/ VY
Usc White/Bush

wr's Texas Limas Sweed/David Thomas
USC Dwayne Jarrett and Steve Smith

We weren't talking about defense but the talent surrounding the quarterbacks

Very true. Obviously Leinart was great I really am just bored at work and wanted something else to discuss.

I don't know about that. Seem to remember a Sophomore Vince Young beating Michigan by himself in the "Grandaddy of them All". You won't get a lot of cool points telling us that Matt Leinart is better than either of those adopted Tennesseans!

That's one game in 2004. The rest of the season he was above average, but not fantastic. If SCs defense was even above average in 05 they win that game easily IMO.

I agree with Droski that Leinart had the better career, but if we're talking about one season, I would say 2005 VY >> Any season for Matt Leinart.

If we're talking technique, then my homeboy Manning gets the vote. :)
