Vols Win over A.P. 7-5

What no game thread tonight? Where is everyone?

I have to say that it was a great night for baseball at Lindsey Nelson. The weather was great since we escaped the rain. The Vols won AND I got to meet Bruce Pearl who was at the game.

Hochevar pitched ok for the most part but he really got slammed in the 7th giving up four runs as he had trouble throwing strikes. Unbelievable comeback by our guys though being down going into the bottom of the 8th. Hochevar has won a lot of games for us this year so it was nice that we could pull this one out and get him a win.

Why do the coaches always wear the uniform in baseball? It would look pretty funny to see Phil in pads and Pearl in a basketball uniform. Don't ya think?

I'm afraid that Luke's arm is starting to get a bit tired on him. That could mean big trouble for us.

Between that and Iorg having the stress fracture...it could definitely be trouble.

It was funny last night, Delmonico was going to put Iorg in as a pinch hitter in the 8th during our rally but the third run scored and the coach changed his mind. Iorg was pretty PO'd and went storming off. He was not happy.

I feel for the kid, but under the circumstances, I'd prefer not to run the risk of aggravating his injury so maybe he can play next week, knock on wood.

Official attendance was a little over 3100. I would have thought it was closer to 3500. A good crowd for the most part but not one I would classify as great. Maybe will get a few more today and tomorrow.
