Vols toughening up?

I've heard that several former players meet with the current squad over the summer and had heart to heart conversations regarding the need to toughen up - but other than that I have no details. Anyone got anthing else for me on that?

All I know is that the coaching staff was stressing physicallity and toughness ever since the Penn St loss. Everything I've read seems to be saying the same thing.

Yeah, I'm familiar with all that - much needed too. But I thought I'd heard that some former players have been by and - if not calling out the current guys - at least telling them that they are Tennessee and have to step it up in the form of being tougher and more physical.

I hope that is true. From what most have said, the team seems to have that will and cohesiveness that has been missing for a few years.

Thank goodness we've been lacking that for a few years. I hope the guys are paying attention and doing something about it.:clapping:

Man, I hope Al Wilson dropped by and had that talk with them...

Heck yeah, Al Wilson would definitely be #1 on my list... Raynoch Thompson, Darwin Walker, John Henderson, or maybe Spencer Riley, Cosey Coleman, etc., any of those dudes could also give some pointers on toughness.

You would think Harrell playing the Florida game with one arm would have instilled something...

We do have Inky on staff as well as Kevin Simon and Harry Galbreath now. All 3 should know a thing or two about toughness.
