After this day in football, I believe anything can happen!! College football proved today that there are NO elite teams, anyone can fall, and YES.....Tebow is human after all!!

I am not giving up on our 2007 Vols!! Every thread turns into "Fire Fulmer", "Jon Gruden", or "Criteria of new coach"....LOL, it truly amazes me!!

Here is all I have to say....it must be awful tough for you guys to put on your orange every Saturday and pull for our team if you have already made your mind up about our football program. I will agree we have holes in our defense, our special teams are bad......but it's nothing youth and talent can't overcome!! And we got BOTH!!

Today should be an eye opener....maybe we aren't as bad off as you think!! We lost to Cal, who is apparently going to be #3 in the nation on Sunday, we have lost to Florida who has alot of talent and youth!! But we were in both games til a turnover killed us in the swamp and Cal sustained a drive late in the 4th quarter!! I know it was embarrassing that Florida ran up the score but there is NO reason in the world to judge the rest of our season on that!! We got down and stayed down.....BUT, I think when something like that happens, more positive comes out of it then negative and I truly believe we learned a hard lesson that day!! It looked ugly but definately a charachter builder!!

Then we say Ole Miss......or Southern Miss.......or Arky State.....when after TODAY shows that you can't judge OUR teams performance on a game that OUR team isn't playing in!! Noone truly knows what is going to happen the rest of the year!! We get so negative on this board and I can't help but to stay positive because we have hope.....we have a chance and like it or not Phil Fulmer is our coach and I will pull for him til the day he is fired, retires or whatever.....

SO, lets have a good week on here, stay positive and BELIEVE in our team and coaches......I know they are working hard, I know they feel the pressure and what are you gonna say if they respond like champions?? Our season STARTS on Oct 6th, 2007!!

GO VOLS!! :salute:

The season started September 1st and I am not willing to call it a clean slate. Sorry.

I will believe when given reason to. Sorry to be Debbie Downer, but nothing in recent history leads me to believe that we can run the table.

We lost to Florida. Ole Miss played Florida closer than we did. Florida lost to a godawful Auburn team. We failed to come up with a good plan to handle Florida offensively or defensively.

You're delusional if you think there's a chance in hell that we run the table this year. We'll be lucky to split these games. All Florida's loss did was make the Fla/Ga game that much bigger............and kept us one game closer to Florida in the final standings.

I'm as big a Vol fan as anyone, believe me, but it ain't gonna happen.

I would like to believe in what you said goodolerockytop2 however all those games yesterday proved that our Vols are WORSE than we thought. We had no answer for Tebow. Auburn simply lined up toe to toe with them and smacked him in the mouth. We couldn't even stop him from getting first downs. In seasons past there was something to build on after losing two games early. This year is different. Something is wrong with this team at a deeper level than talent and coaching. This team has lost the swagger that other TN teams have had. Plainly put this teams EXPECTS to lose. I don't want to get my hopes up just to get them dashed again. This team needs a major overhaul starting from the top. It is sad to get excited about other teams losing to help our cause. We used to take care of business on the field and not worry about what other teams were doing. Face it guys we are on the path to becoming a team like Arkansas that hopes to win 9-10 games a year and end up in the Outback Bowl. Our standards need to get higher. WE ARE TENNESSEE. THE T SHOULD MEAN SOMETHING AGAIN.

I'm a realist, not a hater. Florida would have to lose one more SEC game than us for us to go to Atlanta. And that would mean we would have to take care of business against Georgia.

If tennessee had something that resembled a sec defense i'd say we had as good a shot as anyone. Problem is we don't. After watching some highlights of thomas brown running up and down the field yesterday. I see georgia running at will against us. Just like everyone else has this year.

all these people drinking the Kool-Aid just amaze me. Please explain to me how a UF loss enables us to stop the run or makes Heffney play better than he has.

You gotta believe and never give up. Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor. NO! All we need is a Toga party for the Georgia Game. Everyone come to the game in a Toga.

Toga! Toga! Toga!

They got LSU next weekend

Not to mention Kentucky and UGA ( )

I dont think there's a team left on our schedule that we cant beat. Doing it, however, is another topic.

nvm. i see the "doing it" qualification now.

Defense hasn't executed all year and offense didn't do so hot in the Swamp. I think the offense will be fine the rest of the year... only real test left is Bammer. I'm not totally sold on SoCar., but they arent looking bad on defense.

You're in for a really rude awakening. We'll lose to Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas and Kentucky. Furthermore, we have a shot at losing to Mississippi State.

Really, the FL loss does 2 things.
1) Show how bad of a team UT is and how bad we gameplan.
2) After a FL loss to LSU next week and if UT can win at Georgia, it will just legitimize Fulmer again. The thought of that makes me sick.

They will "screw it up" is different from they are not as good as their ranking. Are you saying they are a very good team that deserves a high ranking but will slip up? Or are you saying they are overrated?

I think California is a very talented team. And, they have taken care of their business so far. Winning at Oregon this last week was a very tough task.
