Vols Report Card: UTC

Keep in mind, this is against UTC.

His first pass of the day was an underthrown deep ball that might have been intercepted if not for Marquez Callaway playing the role of defensive back, and Guarantano's touchdown pass to Cedric Tillman was a late throw that might not have turned out the way it did against an SEC defense. He showed nice pocket presence to step up and find Jauan Jennings for his first touchdown of the game on the only third down he faced. His touchdown pass to Callaway was an accurate deep ball.

Freshman backups J.T. Shrout and Brian Maurer looked like quarterbacks making their collegiate debuts. Combined they were 3-of-11 passing, the Vols only scored 10 points on their drives, though really only Maurer's first series included the regular starters and Both quarterbacks had some ugly incompletions. However, Shrout's nullified interception came after a deflection and he had a couple of sharp throws, and Maurer had a touchdown run, showed his mobility on a couple of plays and deserved better on a deep ball to Ramel Keyton.

To briefly quote the article, bold and italic mine for emphasis:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.
