the problem that no one on the recruiting forum or over here understands is... We are not looking at a possible 3-star recruit, or someone who may have a big season and crack the Rivals 250, we are in on Heaps, who may be the number 1 player in High School Football, Sims who could be a top 50 football player, we don't look for rough emeralds anymore, we are on Polished Diamonds

Pretty interesting that you know what we all do or do not understand.

When exactly did we quit looking for polished diamonds?? This post is absurd and factually wrong....on that note, have a Merry Christmas :)

It's worked really well for Ben Olson...

I don't know, basically forgetting all about football for 2 years, and chances are, not having access to good workout facilities, ..etc just don't seem good to me.

Instead of that, why not just go after the #2 QB who would stay all 4 years?

Worked out really well for John Beck.

If we manage some moderate success on the field next year, I think lane will get his guy, a top 5 pro-style qb.

Pillip Simms...that is our guy. As mentioned, he's been offered and he goes to HS with J. Askew. He's a great looking prospect. Has decent speed too to get away from pressure, but he's definitely not a dual-threat guy. He "fits the system".

He's a little short though. But Oscar Smith is putting out like 3 top tier D-1 prospects in this year and next. If we get Sims as well, chances are we get the last one (IIRC he's a top flight Defensive End prospect, can't remember for sure)

Worked out well for Drew Brees.

Hell, the kid is 6'2. You know who else was 6'2? You guessed it, Steve Young, who also happens to be a Mormon. I think that means that both Simms and Heaps are future Hall of Famers. Seriously, try to find a flaw in that logic.

To be fair to Heaps, on the slim chance he isn't a future HOFer, Steve Young is pretty much the Uber Mormon
