Tennessee’s football players began trickling back into town on Friday morning and throughout the weekend in preparation for the Vols’ first voluntary workout of the summer on Monday morning. A.J. Artis led the way as strength coach in Tennessee’s first workout following the departure of Craig Fitzgerald to the New York Giants in March. Artis hasn’t been formally announced as the head strength coach by Jeremy Pruitt, but it is believed to be a formality at this point.

All indications are that all 19 of Tennessee’s incoming freshmen who did not enroll early made it to campus over the weekend for their first week of workouts as a Vol...With over 90 players back on campus and the season opener less than three months away, we’ve decided to craft a projected depth chart of Tennessee’s roster at each position.

Wow, 7 seniors on the defensive line...........if Mayes is eligible, 4 five stars on the offensive line........very promising.

If Jordan is gone, we've lost significant RB production from last year, and our only non-frosh power back.

Hello Princeton Fant or Tee Hodges.

Hodges or LiNeth Whitehead.

We're fine there.

If Chandler has put on enough muscle he can be in more short yardage situations. He's getting close to 215 now. He's kind of a forgotten man. I think he will have a bigger year than Gray and play himself into a draft pick

I think Gray heads this group running away...best natural runner we’ve had since Hardesty.

I am very concerned about punting.
Me as well. Brooks hasn’t looked like a good punter the times I’ve seen him do it, and if this new guy doesn’t do well, we’re in trouble. Especially if the offense doesn’t improve cause we’ll be punting a lot in that case.

Experience is going to be big this year, I'm like you, Chandler at 215 could be pretty special if we can get the defenses we face spread out, he's tough to catch once he gets into the open field, especially on passes he catches downfield.

Personally I don't think he qualifies as a "power back". He's a "tweener", "jack of all trades master of none" type of guy. He catches the ball well but isn't really a guy who scares DC's as a threat. He's not big enough to run through front 7's... and not fast enough to run around them. He has some solid contributions here and there but isn't a consistent factor and especially against better opponents.

The Vols used a Fr LB as their short yardage back last year... not Jordan.

This is the 1st time that i've seen that particular group of Wr's starting. (Palmer, Gibbs, Jones). I actually like this group. Palmer and Jones are proven enough and i think Gibbs has big play potential. That oline is simply ridiculous and the depth has to be top half of the league good. The Dline is a legit 12 deep heck really the defense in general is loaded top to bottom. We got plenty of vets and a ton of young talent. If we can be just an avg offense 9 wins is possible. If the offense plays above avg we will upset somebody, at least 1 of the big 4.
