Ga Tech has put several UK players in the turf with supposed cut or chop blocks.
Stoops pointed to Johnson about it and they have been yelling at each other on the field.

They should be treated like targeting or horse collars. Need to eliminate it from the game due to injuries. All these rules to protact QBs and WRs what about the Dline, when a player can dive at below the knee and break a leg and get an atta boy for the "block", that's an issue.

Same old same old with GT. It's dangerous and annoying for defenders having to avoid someone diving towards their knees play after play.

It forces the defender to take on the block rather than get their knee shredded, that's garbage. If there is no rule change, Dobbs should invent a proper brace to protect their legs.

A very stupid move by the UTAD to agree to open a season vs Ga Tech. Sure to lose a couple of defensive linemen for a few weeks after that game. It's technically legal but they still dive at the side and/or back of the knees when the DL beats them off the snap.

Who thought it was a good idea to play GT of all people in an opener? Last team anyone wants to play if you don't have to! I don't mean we can't win but you waste 2 weeks of fall practice getting ready for an offense you will not see again. Then, as stated above, potential for injury is greater than normal game. Not a smart move by the program.

This could be a new record...Not even 1 day after the season ended and we're whining about the opening game next season.

Is it too late to pass on the game and line up some other team?

I've never followed GTech and wasn't aware that they had this issue as a team.

Johnson has been doing it for years.

Backwards K, IPlead Insanity and Exiled, can you say Dave Hart? Don't you just love him? He and Hammy have set the standards for all future ADs.

Agreed. I hate GTech's dirty play style. Injuries haunted this season and I'd be damn we lose more of our Defensive Lineman next season due to chop blocking. It's ridiculous and dangerous to the players.

Watching the blocking from GT reminded me of the clip that hurt Shy. But instead of one lineman, GT has ALL of theirs playing that way.

Last time we played Air Force, with Johnson as the coach, players complained about being black and blue. UT won but just barely. No upside to playing the wishbone. GT was very smart to utilize this offense, they don't need 5 star players to run it. Harder to get those 4 and 5 star players with the academics at GT. Johnson was my choice when Fulmer was fired.

I remember the game, but Paul Johnson wasn't their coach.

Cut blocks are perfectly legal. Until they are outlawed, don't waste time complaining about it. The Broncos used this technique for a long time.

Watching all these cut blocks and with our D line history of leg injuries this game could have major impact down the road..

It's not a wishbone.

Johnson coached Navy before GT. Other points are spot on.
