From Go Vols 247.

"Another rapid-riser in the ESPN FPI rankings, Josh Heupel and Tennessee jumped 15 spots to No. 10 after their opening-night shellacking of Ball State. Tennessee jumped out to a 7-0 lead despite not taking the opening kickoff after an early takeaway was followed by a touchdown pass from Hendon Hooker to Jalin Hyatt and that was just the beginning of the beatdown. The Volunteers battle Pittsburgh (1-0) next in what's expected to be one of Week 2's most evenly-matched showdowns."

Makes little sense.

Did espn really expect mighty Ball State to put up a serious challenge?

Now, I could see going from unranked to 23rd or something. Double that as is week 1 and nobody really knew what to expect from anyone. But jumping 15 spots from beating a cupcake, nope.

It’s funny that the FPI has us favored only 54.1% to win against Pitt but against FL, 70.4%.
Our projected wins is up to 7.9 from 7.1. That Pitt game basically flipped. Based on the strength of the conference to date, it's probably a good bet.

How do they beat #7 and not be in there? Doesn’t add up.
Florida was ranked #24 on the WEEK1 ESPN FPI list I saw just now on NewsBreak.

Pitt was #25. TAM 21. KY 20. OM 17. MISSST 13. LSU 12.

SEC teams sharing the Top 10 with the Vols are SHOCK! GA 2 BAMA 1

Man....I'm worried about LSU. Hasn't even played a game yet, coming off the chaos of last season, and ranked #12:rolleyes:

Lol correct. I mean Death Valley isn’t an easy place to win but LSU looks pretty soft right now.
