“This year, I think he’s trying to just to play his game and not worry about what happened last year,” Hefney said. “But in the back of his mind, he knows we’re always going to be coming on defense.”

Aww, yeah! The blue hair won't save you, sweetie!

It is starting to bother me that we have such small cornerbacks 5'9 that isn't very big.Hope they cover well, because they more than likely won't be outjumping anyone.

the only advantage a reciever has over a 5'9 db is if he is 6'2 or taller and has good leaping ability and the defender has none at all on a jump ball... and this would have to just be one on one coverage because the defender can still a. knock the crap out of him or b. time the jump perfect and knock the ball out of his hands... other than that there is no advantage, i kno this because im 5'9 and i have played against plenty of 6'4 recievers

Best line in the story.

“They did that in high school,” Hefney said Tuesday with a smile.

hahah- I agree. Trying to throw the Vols off with noise is like trying to drown a shark in water.

Hefney is the man.

I remember his first tackle against UNLV where he picked the reciever up and slammed him. I promptly went out and bought a #33 jersey

Yes you're right a 6'4 receiver has no advantage whatsoever on a 5'9 db when running a fade route.

He said he has no advantage unless he is 6'2" or taller... with good leaping ability (and to be a major college WR you kinda need decent ability)... So what are you arguing about?
