Vols heading into trap game?

I think the players will take it as disrespect that everyone, including Vegas is expecting us to come out flat against Georgia. I think we come out firing on all cylinders early on and put Georgia away pretty quickly. We matchup very well against this Georgia football team this year.

I would consider this a trap game to be worried about if 3 things were different.

1. A healthy Nick Chubb. Holyfield and Michel are very good backs but lets face it, neither one measures up to Chubb. I am not saying UGAs running game is bad, but not having one of the best RBs in the backfield is a big deal.

2. A true FR QB. Eason has some immense talent. But again he is a true FR. Its a really tough sled to be a true FR QB in the SEC. Especially having to deal with a DC like Shoop.

3. Lastly, our dominating win against UF. That may very well be the biggest difference maker. I believe that the UF win was a program changer. A win like that could have changed the whole mentality of team 120. The fact that we were able to dominate the UF defense in the second half speaks volumes. Georgia is just not that deep or as talented on their front 7 as UF. Thats just fact.

In the end, I dont think UGA is a trap game at all. UGA will be a tough game for awhile but in the end, I believe UT runs away in the end. TAMU is the game that should be considered in the trap category.

Texas A&M is ranked ahead of Tennessee....how would A&M be a trap game? They will be favored....

Hopefully Tennessee is ready for UGAs best game so far this season, because I believe its coming. So Does Vegas!

Not gonna lie this game does scare me. But GA gets 3 points for home field advantage so add that and it's a 7 point spread which is right about where it should be.We haven't exactly shown that we can play a full game yet and be dominant not to mention they are still in the top 25 and we haven't won in Athens in '06. GA hasn't been a home underdog to anybody since 2011 so it's a very rare occurrence for them to be home dogs. And GA has a few areas that they can be a huge mismatch for us if they execute and if our D.Line doesn't put pressure on Eason. This is a game where we find out how much the Vols have matured and what kind of leadership we have from players and coach's.If we come out flat and are still celebrating last Saturday and focusing more on A'M and Ala we will be in serious trouble. Then that will also tell me we aren't as mature as we should be with so many upperclassmen and coach's aren't fully doing their jobs. If we are focused and that 2nd half team plays the entire game we will run GA off the field like Ole Miss did..but if we don't we could get down a few scores early and may not be able to come back this time. With the matchup problems A'M and Ala will be for us winning this game is critical for us if we want to win the East. If we lose tomorrow our SEC Championship game chances become slim to none. We will soon see what type of leadership we have. Hoping like hell we turned the corner last week and we see the team we all expected for the rest of the year and if we do nobody will want to play us.

I agree. GA is the game I'm worried about being a trap game if there is going to be one. I honestly don't know how UF,GA,A'M or Ala could ever be trap games so I am hoping none of them will be. Only way A'M could be a trap game would be in this 4 game stretch we play our 3 biggest rivals then A'M in in that stretch also. That could be the ONLY way it would have a chance at being considered a trap game. But even then as long as they beat the cocks tomorrow they should still be ahead of us and will most likely be a top 8-10 matchup for both teams. But out of these 4 games GA is the less talented and most winnable game. But in saying that this game scares the hell out of me because we don't know where the Vols are from a mentality standpoint.A mindset can lose a game for you quicker than anything. Ask Fulmer after we beat UF and played LSU with a damn back up in and having beaten LSU earlier in the year. We were by far the better team but the players were still celebrating the UF win and except for Casey Clausen nobody else could do a damn thing right. So that lack of focus cost us the chance to play Mia out in Cali for a National Championship. I prefer us not have déjà vu tomorrow. We just need to be focused and take care of business tomorrow again a struggling team that isn't well coached right now.

I know my guy in Vegas allegedly. Has uga straight up

It would not surprise me in the least. We could come out and beat the life out of GA tomorrow or just as easily we could get our a$$e$ handed to us. I would just assume we come out aggressive early and put the game to bed early and let QD get to mopping the whole 2nd half. But that is in a perfect world.

Unfortunately it has the full potential to be just that. It shouldn't be and hope to hell it won't be but these are 18-22 year olds and you never know where their mindset will be. It happens every year to pretty much every team at some point. Just praying it won't be tomorrow. But if anyone thinks there is no chance for that to happen then they haven't watched much college football. It happens in HS,College and in the NFL so it's not uncommon and isn't something that will ever go away. It has always played a part in college football and always will as long as there is football to play.

We already had our trap games against App State and Ohio. We will not be overlooking any Georgia team, regardless of how bad they are or have looked. But should we expect to beat them? Absolutely.

Don't sleep on GA. They're pissed. We're riding high. Some are looking past GA to Alabama, SECCG, NC, whatever. Danger lurks with that kind of thinking.

Listen to our coach. Next game up. One snap at a time.

That said, #gbo! #wgwtfa!

Absolutely agree..that kind of thinking will make it a long trip back home and making it less likely we make it to ATL..hell I'm just as worried about A'M as I am Alabama. They are a team we don't match up well with and to make it worse we play in College Station, which isn't an easy place to win at.I f we look past GA and end up losing our shot of playing in Atlanta fall into the very slim to none category. Don't like our chances of beating both A'M and Ala which is what we would pretty much have to do if we lose tomorrow. We just need to take care of business tomorrow.

ding ding ding not so fast there.
First ut got their running game going last week.
second Tuttle I'm sure is a little ticked off.
third Martin not starting at db tomm.
fourth Barnett said he wanted a championship and when Barnett talks you listen.
so no trap game.

Your right Martin isn't starting but Mosely is on the other side and he has gotten beat more than any Vol CB in the last few years than anyone I can remember in the last decade. I think Buchanan will be a great CB for us in his career but still he is a FR and we don't have a lockdown corner on the opposite side of him so this has me very nervous. That is the biggest concern I have tomorrow..our corners vs their receivers..could be a huge mismatch if Eason can get the ball to them.
