I dunno... I think we became a much better team for having learned early on how much (and in what areas) we had to improve to be tournament ready. If my team's gonna be taken to school, I'd much rather it be out-of-conference.

And I don't think those losses hurt us with the pollsters and pollgarithms.

UT used to play a lot of the P-5/6s in the Volunteer Classics. I’d like to see a complete list as I don’t remember them but often see the names in the Game Notes. Duke a time or 2 IIRC.

The 1986 Sugar Bowl win over Vinny, Irvin and the Hurricanes was monumental, imo. That Win in Miami, too. Derrick Tinsley scoring on that reverse and Winslow Jr. whining about being a "Soldier".

Dude, I love last year's out of conference schedule. I'm pumped every time we play the absolute best teams possible. I could care less if we lose some of them which we are destined to do versus such competition.

We played them on 4/20/20. Purple Urkle had 37 points and Jack Herer had 29 I believe. At least that’s how remember it.
