...a person close to the program, a person uncomfortable being quoted but very comfortable with the potential success of Season 120, believes the key is something already certain, something long ago forged.

"It's the leadership of these players," he said this past weekend. "It's off the charts. Butch doesn't have to preach effort or desire or making the right decisions off the field because that senior class — guys like Josh Dobbs, Cam Sutton and Jalen Reeves-Maybin — does it for him."

Preach it, brother. It all starts there: with character, with values. That's the bedrock that great programs are built upon. Not recruiting stars, but team and individual character.

Go Vols!

Talent wins everytime

When it's between entitled talent and hard working talent with good leadership, I'll take the ladder. Talent don't ALWAYS win, usually does but no matter cuz 120 has talent by the ton as well. Entitled talent with the whole, "I love me some me" attitude gets you teams that fold late in tough games or without strong leadership you get weeks where they don't play up to their talent such as the 2005 Vols. They had as much talent as any team we've had IMO, but we're entitled.

If CBJ is not careful he is going to set a trend of ballers staying rather than going to the NFL early. At media days JRM said he stayed to finish the job of putting Tn back where it belongs, while Cam wanted to do what he loves with who he loves. Everybody knows why Kongbo came to Tn, to win every game.

#120 is stacked. 2016 is gonna be a fun year.

Go Vols!

I agree with your point, but I'd rather take the stairs than the ladder anyday.

Every time? Ask the Cowboys and Redskins about that? How many championships have Jerry and Daniel bought with all those "highly talented" free agents they have brought in over the years? It's takes team chemistry and strong leadership to go along with "talent".

Weidmer is a complete hypster. Take anything he writes (+ or -) and divide by 10. You'll be somewhere in the neighborhood. His act is more like comedy (unfunny) w a sports theme. JMO.

I was speaking of Daniel Snyder and Jerry Jones trying to buy Super Bowl rings by bringing in highly talented free agents over the years instead of building franchises with team chemistry and leadership, along with talent. You need all three. IMO

Glad to see we have a few "Al Wilson's" in the locker room that use their determination to will us to a win.

Yes,talent matters but dedication, chemistry and heart matters as much. You can't win it all without all of these.
