Vols get new commit from GA DE Roman Harrison

I know, only the bestest Vol fans accept the commitment of a ZERO star with no questions and great enthusiasm.

Dude you’re the one requiring the explanations... don’t get bent because you find out you don’t like the answers...:eek:lol:

37 NFL Pro Bowl Players Were 3-Star Recruits (or Worse) - HERO Sports

“The biggest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance, it’s the illusion of knowledge.”

And I'm sure the fact that 3 star players outnumber 4 and 5 star players 3-1 has nothing to do with it, right?

Look the bottom line is there is a direct correlation with teams who win conference and national championships and their recruiting success. There is no denying that. As I've said before, yes in SOME years there are outliers that defy that formula. However typically the teams that finish highest in recruiting wind up having the most on the field success. To have an honest chance to compete and win the SEC we need to finish in the top 5 in recruiting year in and year out.

I agree. We are dealing with two annual opponents who recruit well and coach well. We don't know what the long term effects of Mullen at UF will be. We have to have top talent and great development and great game day coaching. Pruitt said this would be the best class in the country. I'm holding him to those words and, so far, those words ring as hollow as the most clichéd of Butchisms.

I hope Pruitt is cooking up something. I’m afraid he’s just realizing how tough it is to recruit to Tennessee in the modern SEC.

Next year on signing day we will be up there at the very top. For us, rankings don't really matter. We don't need someone out there that runs the mail to tell us what a good football player is - these guys know what they are looking for in a football player.

If you can develop and win you can get plenty of talent here. The idea that top flight talent wont come here with those 2 things in place is a myth. Jones pulled 2 top 5 classes in a row and had yet to prove a thing. Had he actually backed that up with solid development and coaching he'd still be here with at least 2 east division titles and few 10+ win seasons.

Some of what Pruitt will fight through his first 2 years is projection. Where does it appear you are going in comparison to where you are.

If we received a commitment from a 6'2", 240 lbs, 39" vertical, 4.6 speed kid from a 5A school in Georgia with 8.5 sacks and 50 tackles while playing noseguard and some dude from Yahoo Sports called him a 5 star, this board would be going nuts.

Instead we have a coach that has been labeled the National Recruiter of the Year, has three National Championships, and has coached the absolute best talent in the country the last seven years that says he wants this guy after seeing him evaluated behind closed doors.

I feel pretty damn good about this guy.

From the war room.

The Vols landed a superb athlete in Roman Harrison, a prospect who they envision can add 30+ pounds and retain most of his freakish athleticism. Harrison is relatively unknown because he plays in a small town in South Georgia, but don’t be surprised if other schools come calling this fall. There’s been some Courtney Upshaw comps for Harrison, and while that seems outlandish right now for a prospect who just got ranked, the staff is sky-high on his potential.

Will be a high 3 star or low 4 star by NSD.

Will start in college at some point.

This will be a foot note one day about how Pruitt has an eye for recruiting.

No, tell us all what it means o Copernicus of recruiting. I mean, is your job based on talent evaluation like Pruitt's is?
No but Pruitt isn’t the only coach who evaluated talent. Pretty simple really, other schools passed for whatever reason. But I prefer Socrates or Aristotle

We are scraping the top 10 now and just added a stud CB last night, and will probably will add 1-2 more players this week after this bbq lol. I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. 🤷‍♂️

We could have moose-knuckle-dan-mullen with his 38th ranked class. 😅.
