37 NFL Pro Bowl Players Were 3-Star Recruits (or Worse) - HERO Sports
The biggest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance, its the illusion of knowledge.
I agree. We are dealing with two annual opponents who recruit well and coach well. We don't know what the long term effects of Mullen at UF will be. We have to have top talent and great development and great game day coaching. Pruitt said this would be the best class in the country. I'm holding him to those words and, so far, those words ring as hollow as the most clichéd of Butchisms. And I'm sure the fact that 3 star players outnumber 4 and 5 star players 3-1 has nothing to do with it, right?
Look the bottom line is there is a direct correlation with teams who win conference and national championships and their recruiting success. There is no denying that. As I've said before, yes in SOME years there are outliers that defy that formula. However typically the teams that finish highest in recruiting wind up having the most on the field success. To have an honest chance to compete and win the SEC we need to finish in the top 5 in recruiting year in and year out.

Next year on signing day we will be up there at the very top. For us, rankings don't really matter. We don't need someone out there that runs the mail to tell us what a good football player is - these guys know what they are looking for in a football player.
I hope Pruitt is cooking up something. Im afraid hes just realizing how tough it is to recruit to Tennessee in the modern SEC.
The Vols landed a superb athlete in Roman Harrison, a prospect who they envision can add 30+ pounds and retain most of his freakish athleticism. Harrison is relatively unknown because he plays in a small town in South Georgia, but dont be surprised if other schools come calling this fall. Theres been some Courtney Upshaw comps for Harrison, and while that seems outlandish right now for a prospect who just got ranked, the staff is sky-high on his potential.
