Vols get a Gator schedule break this year.

Screw the gators! They probably win in the Swamp this year but I always hold out a little hope and optimism. If we somehow pull it off, I look forward to seeing how the bittersweet fans react. That has become a new added bonus to winning against the gatorsuck.

I always hold out a little hope but the last 2 games there....UGH! So frustrating.

I don't think Kentucky is going to be very good this year. I don't know as much about Miami... All I can really say about our upcoming game with Florida is that I really hope the team plays with a chip on it's shoulder and wants to redeem themselves for last year's effort in Neyland. If they aren't ashamed of that performance, then they aren't competitors.

It doesn’t matter how the schedule shakes out, we always seem to sh*t the bed against Florida. Hopefully they play with chips on their shoulders all year long, because we’re still regarded as an afterthought in the conference.

Instead of their usual 3 early cupcakes, the Gators have 2 difficult games (Miami & UK) before facing the Vols this season.
Should give us plenty of good video to see what they truly have.
Doesn’t mean we will win in Gainesville but it is a little break for us, I think.

Florida has played Michigan, Kentucky and Alabama in recent years before playing Tennessee and it made absolutely no difference v Tennessee.

I doubt it will this year either.

Injuries, Injuries, Injuries - much better chance getting hurt vs Miami and UK vs Southwestern Texas Technical College or Northern Louisiana School for the Gifted

I will say that there were years in the 90's when the schedule worked to their advantage. We would typically open with UCLA and then play Georgia before Florida, while they were playing Central Michigan and then Kentucky or some directional school. Florida lost at Syracuse in 1991... they did not play another out of conference road game outside the state of Florida again while Spurrier was the head coach.

I would think there is a much greater chance for a starter getting an injury playing 90 snaps against comparably sized talent (like Miami) versus playing 40 snaps against Southern Hawaii Institute of Technology....

I think he was being facetious because two of the schools don't even exist.
