According to reports, ticket sales suck for the gators this year. We should checker the swamp. That would be awesome.

"The buzz around Florida football hasn’t exactly been palpable this offseason. With huge questions on offense, a new coach in Jim McElwain and a program that is in overall rebuilding mode, the Gators are doing everything they can to get people to the stadium this season.

Fans aren’t beating the door down to see the beginning of the McElwain era either. Ticket sales are lagging for the Sept. 5 opener against New Mexico State, so Florida’s practically giving them away at this point."

Id rather the Swamp be filled to capacity with FL fans and we handle them so thoroughly they chant "F UT" afterwards, personally.

I think this shows the quality of their fanbase against ours. When we were at our Dooley lows, we were still bringing 95,000+ to games on the New Mexico St level. Florida hits a low, and the fans jump off the burning ship at the first opportunity. I guess thats what happens when your football tradition basically didnt exist before 1990

Let's scrap the whole "checker the swamp" thing. I'd rather do something to them that we haven't done in years ... walk out with a "W".
This ^

Since 1991 I have gone to every game in that dump except 1999 and 2007.. And have only walked out of there twice with a W.. Living down here and taking this crap for all these years needs to end this year

This, this, this. UF has some of the most fairweather fans in all of college football.

I'll be there more than likely. But stop with the checkering s***, and just go out and win the damn game.

In regards to checkering:

A. It should only be done at home.

B. It should be for one game per season.

Color me shocked that Ole Horseface isn't exactly inspiring confidence. Maybe the Ole Ballsack would come collect a paycheck and sling his visor around some if McElwain = Dooley.

Maybe I should have blue fonted Checkering the Swamp. I was just thinking that out of spite and hating them. But I agree that just walking out of there this year with a win. A solid win, would be about as great as anything we've done in a long time.

Honestly those figures were bloated. We fell from 72k season tickets in 2005 to 56k season tivkets in 2012.

No fanbase supports losing including ours

"Man, can you imagine: Florida fans will be wearing orange, white and blue and we'll roll in with.. a slightly different shade of orange and white. Man won't they look stupid"

95k?

You obviously weren't at the Troy game.

Actually, you obviously weren't at most games. 95k is a stretch and only really happened during SEC matchups.

Not too many things better than being at the game. The losses sting, but the wins, against quality teams, that's the deal. GO VOLS! WIN em ALL!

C. It should be done when I don't have to set in the white section.:banghead2:

I was, in fact, at most games. I will acknowledge that in Dooleys 3rd year things got bad. Fair enough. But McElwain isnt IN his third year. Hes in his first year. We showed up in droves for Dooleys first year. We showed up for Butchs first year too, maybe not 2005 numbers but better than Florida. We dont jump ship before our coach has ever stepped on the field, a la $5 NMSU tickets.
