Tennessee out-hit Georgia, 9-7, but couldn't find a way to produce any runs on Friday night as the Volunteers dropped their Southeastern Conference opener to the 19th-ranked Bulldogs, 4-0, at Foley Field in Athens, Ga.

Props to Knoxvillian and former Admiral -- Curt Powell - hitting 380 on the year - OBP 484 for the pups.

Has to be among the early leaders in the SEC. Not a surprise -- he can hit a baseball.:hi:

This is off topic, but I've been looking for you Stephen. Was wondering if you'd seen the guy writing the book chapter about European NHL fans and looking for submissions about why you liked particular teams and what the highlights and lowlights are.

I'm not sure whether it's okay to post a link here, but since it's a non-Vol site (and thus not at all in competition with VN, I think it is)

As far as the game, I also missed it. But Georgia is a top 25 team, and we just don't have a lot of scoring punch. So I imagine this won't be the last time we see this final score.

Hit well, but just couldn't string them together. Relievers were good. (unlike today)

And yeah Powell is REALLY good. Dude has been mashing the ball. He's had a couple web gems the last two games too.
