Vols defeat Tigers but it was sloppy

Forward Felix Okpara #34 was an intimidating defender of the rim at LSU on Tuesday. He scored 15, went six-for-six on field goals, three-for-three on free throws and had seven rebounds and two blocked shots. (Photos by Andrew Ferguson/ Tennessee Athletics)

Vols continued their Jeckyll Hyde Persona; but a win is a win and all SEC Road wins are to be celebrated. Not Coach Barnes' words, but basically his take.

Coming off the TA&M win and Bama Sat this was a good road win. As a player you just can't get up for every game. They did enough to win and get out of there. No one cares what you looked like. Hopefully they had some good gumbo Monday night at the hotel and all was well with the trip.

Nobody should ever apologize for winning a conference road game in late-February. Those games have a way of sneaking up and biting good teams.

This was a solid, albeit not pretty, win where the Vols were in control nearly the entire way. I’ll take it.
