I know it's a bit of a joke when we talk about Tennessee playing better as underdogs, and playing better on the road. I looked at the latter over the last 7 years.

The findings?

Over the last 7 seasons, Tennessee is 24-8 on the road, which ranks 6th best across the country. That seems insanely good for a team that ranks around 13th-15th in total winning % over the same time period.

Thoughts?

I believe they also have the best road record in the SEC since divisional play began. Not 100% sure on that, but i think it is correct.

I know over the last 7 seasons, Georgia is the only team with a better road record than us in the SEC.

i think it's a mindset, that goes back to the same old "we alwasy play better as an underdog" thing.....

And while i wont' knock this record, all you have to do is throw up the home field record and then you really do have to wonder.....:dunno:

They have been better on the road.I think that will help. That and the fact they have a senior at Qb.

If we are 6th in road win % over the last seven years but only 15th in overall win %, then I don't even want to think about where our home win % ranks. Ouch.

I'm assuming that doesn't include neutral sites? Georgia's road record benefits by never playing at the Swamp. They would fall behind us I'm sure if you factored Florida in there given the dawgs futility against the gators.

Best not to touch that one.

But on a positive note, we play AT Florida and AT "bama this year!

Yeah, we beat the in '89 and '96 (I think). And we played well in '94 but Colquit got hurt and Helton/Manning couldn't get it done.

About what I would think considering how horrible UT has played at home overall.I oftentimes have more confidence when they hit the road to play, it's as if they have all to gain and nothing to lose.
