The Vol in me wants to complain about us not moving up since we started at 9 and have won but the honest side of how we have played says I cant. Wonder how if we get one of 2 from the next two games and win the SEC title game a one loss UT will fair in final ranks?

What kind of crazy talk is this,"win 1of2" we are gonna win both of em I'm tellin ya it's like the 98 team just find a way to win!

Guessing Louisville is still ranked higher?

yes and they should be
Yes, because Louisville looks like they could or maybe probably be better than Tennessee could EVER be, obviously.
Florida BARELY makes it past Vandy and they go up 3 spots? What the heck???
Vandy is a strong, strong road win in the SEC. Winning @ Georgia is not so well respected. You know, with Vandy being a powerhouse & all, while Georgia is an also ran.
Why shouldn't Washington be ranked ahead of Tennessee?
Because they beat Stanford, of course. Tennessee hasn't "started fast enough", though we have finished every game with more points than the other team. But hey, don't let that get in the way of a good narrative.
Look. We aren't going to the playoffs this year baring another miracle (which seems normal for this team).
Yeah, a miracle, or we simply win our games. Which I know, would NEVER HAPPEN (though it would be something less than miraculous). Again, a big, hearty, :eek:lol:

Not good. Not good at all. Look up what happens to every #9 this year. Bad games resulting in dropping in the polls (even with a win) or just straight up losing. Places us behind the 8-ball right out of the gate. On second thought, right where we want to be? 4 full quarters vs A&M immenent.

Just look at it upside down and it's 6.

I have 2 scenarios for consideration and would love opinions on them.
1) we lose to a&m and bama and then we win out and beat bama in the seccg.
2) we win all regular season games but lose to bama in the seccg.
What would our chances be of making the playoff in these 2 scenarios? All feedback is appreciated!

That's a great question! I would say there would be about a 25% chance of making the playoff under the 1st scenario and about a 67% chance under the 2nd scenario.

Somehow I imagine that if we lose, we will plummet in the polls. Even though Louisville only dropped 5 spots. We could lose to two top 10 teams and we will be voted out of the top 25 lol

It sad but you are probably right. I hope we don't have to find out. Lol

We will have our answer this Saturday. if we play FOUR quarters. Simple as that. I don't want any heart issues. We need to get our front, early, and roll. Need to show them this is WRU damnit.

IMHO a 1 loss SEC Champion gets in the playoff without a doubt...Any and every year..Until/unless the SEC drops below the Top 3 line of the Power 5 Conferences....

It will be interesting to see if Bama goes undefeated and we beat TAMU and then beat Bama for the SEC championship who gets the playoff spot(s). Potentially both of us get in, but I think Bama would get the slot over us if it went down like that.

If there was a rematch between us and Bama (and each has 1 or no losses), the winner goes to the playoffs.
