I don't see it as likely, but I think it's possible. Really just depends on whether or not anyone other than Lofton gets hot and stays hot.

Awesome link. Thanks. As I have said previously, a top-4 seed probably nets us two NCAA games in Lofton's other home arena (Rupp). That would likely, IMO, result in the Vols heading to the Sweet 16 behind a red-hot Lofton. As for cutting down both nets, or hitting the Exacta, as I like to call it, anything is possible so long as Lofton and Candace Parker are on the same campus. Football title too? Somehow get by Cal and UF, and the Vols will be rolling with road games at Bama and UK and a slew of home games remaining. Just call me an optimist.

Seriously, though, I don't see us winning one (national championship) this year. The Vandy game showed us that we have some issues, like half-court defense, free throw shooting, and rebounding.

As it has been said in this thread, getting into the tournament this year can be viewed as having a good season, and winning any games would just be icing on the cake.

It's nice just to be mentioned, though, as a team that could win it all. I could definitely see Coach Pearl leading the Vols to a Final Four appearance in the next few years.

like the pub, but let's make it to and thru the sweet 16 before we start getting fitted for any kind of ring.

Agreed. Realistic expectations are in order. This year is somewhat like last year - unexpected success.

But next year is shaping up to be a darn good team on paper, losing Bradshaw but gaining at least a couple of capable freshman, perhaps a transfer, and most important, an entire year of experience from the 4 freshman.
