Vols are dangerous?

Saw a computer projection a few days ago that had our chance of winning each game. Better than 50% except GA (~20%), OU (40%) and Bama (42%). I think it just reinforces the notion that the trip to Norman is going to tell us a lot about how our season might shake out. Win it and we have a shot at 11 wins and in the CFP, lose it and we might be looking at 8-9.

I have no idea what to think about this season. I could see us win 11 games but on the same end see us win 8. I just can’t count Florida as a win yet
With UF being at home I give it a good chance. I think the hex may finally be broken for Neyland but its still in full force at the Swamp. Bama still going to be good. We will be underdogs to them. Saban left the new coach a team full of 5*'s. OU a toss up and GA a loss.

This team hasn't been on the field yet. So all this wild speculation is, well, just that, wild speculation.
One thing I've learned from watching college football for well over sixty years, our perception of how the season is going will change as the season goes along. In example, we go to Norman and eke out a victory over the Sooners, say 24-21. We're all talking 12-0, NC contention, the sky's the limit. Then they go to Auburn the next week and get pole axed 34-7 by the Tigers. So now everyone is "tap the breaks, Clark". Until the Longhorns go to Norman and lose 38-28. And just like that we're going undefeated again! But don't you just love that roller coaster ride?

Yep. Gotta remember that's part of the fun in being a fan.

I haven’t a clue how many games we win. To many variables during a season and to be honest most on here haven’t either. I do know this is the first year in a long time I haven’t had that dread feeling going into a season.

Basically
2024 - is the 2022 Team (bombs) with a power run game, and an older faster defense…

I get not looking past an opponent. Just wondering why anyone thinks they have a chance to win.
The line is only -5, within one score. The game will be played behind enemy lines at a somewhat neutral field. Third start for our boy wonder, Nico.

Just I few reminders for you to cogitate. Stay centered. It’s almost here… 🤙🏼

I'm here as well. I simply don't get caught up in the need to predict what the season will be...good or bad. I THINK we'll be in every game but a key injury or two and things could look different. I think pre-season expectations can create disillusion and cause otherwise VFLers to take losses personal and become unbearable  . BUT..I'd also agree I feel like this season has the best potential pre-season we have seen in many a "Orange Moon over Knoxville Tennessee Tonight" (to quote Keith Jackson after the Sugar Bowl win in '86)

Cautiously optimistic for this year. But worried CWM will have another dismal outing in the backfield. AND WE CAN NOT LOSE TO FL!!!!
Florida is still the bellwether game for us. Win and a 9 + win season is almost assured and a real shot at the CFP. Lose and we're 8-4 hoping for a mid level warm weather bowl again.

5th year Sr QB? Ring any bells? This could be the game where we find out if our DB has made the progress needed to have a successful season.
