Unfortunately the #2 game is the one that happens to come on at the same time as UT: Auburn vs Washington. That should be a very interesting game, but alas, my attention will be on the Vols.
If I was AU I would be very worried. Next to Saban the coach I would not like having 8 months prepare for me would be Peterson.

At this point, I'm desperate for football period, I'll be watching Northwestern and Purdue on Thursday night, and may even paint my face for it, lol. I'm inclined to pull for Purdue but could be talked out of it.

Thursday:
Probably Purdue vs Northwestern because it's the only P5 vs P5 matchup. Otherwise I may watch the Texas A&M game

Friday:
Probably Michigan St vs Utah St and Colorado vs CSU after that

Saturday:
For the early game it'll be either Texas vs Maryland or OSU vs OSU. Probably switch between them, and whatever else catches my eye
Our game of course!!!
Primetime looks like Michigan vs ND or Alabama vs Louisville are the only two that may be worth watching
Late I'll probably be watching BYU vs Arizona

Sunday:
Miami vs LSU

Monday:
Florida State vs Virginia Tech

In addition to the Vols, what games are you watching next weekend?

I think I'm gonna try to catch all or part of 9 different games:

Thursday:
-- the first hour of #21 UCF vs UConn (6cst, espnu), just because it's the first game of the season and I miss football so much
-- Northwestern-Purdue (7cst, espn), out of nostalgia for us beating NW in that bowl, and in memory of when Drew Brees put Purdue on the map

Friday:
-- Army-Duke (6cst, espnu), my second-favorite team vs David Cutcliffe

Saturday:
-- flip between Ole Miss vs Texas Tech (11cst, espn) and Ohio State - Oregon State (11cst, abc), to see which of the Rebels and Buckeyes looks more harried :)
-- Vols-Mountaineers (2:30cst, cbs), of course!
-- Vandy vs MTSU (6:30cst, secn) for chuckles, go Blue Raiders!

Sunday:
-- LSU-Miami (6:30cst, abc), because it's college football!

Monday:
-- Va Tech vs FSU (7cst, espn) because ditto!

How about you? Other than Vols-Mountaineers, anything interesting to you this first weekend?

p.s. sorry if I didn't get your second-favorite game in the poll, I ran out of spots to use. Didn't even have room for an "Other" choice, after getting all the Power 5 vs Power 5 matches listed.

You are a "watcher" after my heart! I try to watch as many games as I can every week. Love to see what other teams are doing and compare them to our SEC family of teams who I am always pulling for when we are out of conference.

I absolutely agree with you, Savannah.

Do you find it most fun when we're winning a lot, in the hunt for the playoffs? I do. I like how games from distant conferences play into the Vols' chances when things are going that way. Find myself learning a LOT more about B12, B10, PAC, and ACC teams when we're chasing an SEC crown and maybe even more.

If you gamble, this weekend's games are a lot more fun than. Also, interested in seeing CSU's offense tomorrow now that they lost their OC. Hopefully will show how good Will Friend can be for us.

I hate UGA so I'll be rooting for Austin Peay. Goooooooo Peeeeeeeee.

Ha! Yeah! Let's go Peay! :)

I was actually able to get my wife to shout that once, just the one time, mostly because her baby brother graduated from AP. I don't know why, but it's so much cuter when a cute girl says it. ;)
