So you don't care if we have been in a steady decline since the 2001 SECCG?...Don't get me wrong he is a great man and awsome recuiter, but I just think the game has just passed him by. I want to see him win the SECC and leave on top:good!:

Not really a steady decline with 05 being the trough.

I think it's scholarship limits and I think the SEC championship is either 2 weeks or 1 year and 2 weeks away.

The more I thought about your comment, the more I realize, 2001 SECCG is when LSU took off towards its NC. If we get past KY, we'll be just about as big of an underdog to them as they were to us for that game.

We've got a young team that's grown a lot this year. They can win... this year and beyond! :eek:k:

i think that we would be a much bigger UD to LSU than they were to us in 01 -- they are ranked #1 if they get by AR. but at this point i'm much more worried about the wildhairs than the tiggers.

the home sweep is great!

We should check the lines on that '01 SECCG. We were ranked 2nd as I recall and would have played in the NC. Weren't they a 2-loss team? All the talk back then was about the East division (mainly UT and FL). The West was getting absolutely no respect.

It was the game that turned things around for LSU and the West Division.

Kentucky beat us in the 80's.

true, and of all the big losses i've seen the vols have, that one may be the worst.

They had 3 losses including 1 to UT earlier in the season.

Around this time frame the only talk of SECe teams was UT and UF, the other talk had classically been of Auburn, Alabama, LSU, etc.

So, no, LSU beating us in the SECCG didn't divert attention from the east to the west. Attention was always there.
