Vols #25 in the AP

We shouldn’t have just like we should have never lost to Memphis in 96

Still yet...

That’s why it’s fun to watch the games. Lots of teams should win, but it goes out the window when toe meets leather, baby.

You just outed yourself as either obtuse or a troll.

It's not really worth my (or anyone else's) time to engage with you if either of those are true. However, surely you can agree that beating those 6 teams in succession is much better than losing to any of those 6 teams. Which is exactly what had occurred the previous 2.5 years. You take SEC wins anytime you can get them. Road SEC wins? Glorious. Which is exactly what we did to Kentucky and Mizzou.

Georgia would have loved a win against South Carolina last year. Let alone by 20 points in a beatdown.
UAB finished 9-3. Whole lot of teams would have loved that W.
Guess who would have loved to beat Kentucky last year? Louisville and Virginia Tech.
West Virginia, Ole Miss, and Arkansas would have loved a W against Mizzou.
Rutgers, Maryland, Nebraska, Northwestern, and Purdue would have loved to get a win vs. Indiana.

That's a lot of Power 5 teams that struggled to beat just one of the teams we beat - let alone going undefeated against all of them. Troll on.
Agreed.

And I'd just like to add....it's football, it's not like it's the end of the world that someone thinks we might be the 25th best team in the nation. Lol, I mean ....it always cracks me up that our own fans get butthurt when we Finally begin to show progress and someone on the outside notices.

No one has us wining the SEC or has us ranked 24th....it's 25th, one less and we're not even ranked.

Whatever, carry on.

Since all these teams are not playing, when the bowl season comes around, could we be eligible for 2 bowl games! They will not have enough 6 win teams.

Really, how so? Most pundits say we have one of the 2-3 best offensive lines in the SEC this year. Two quality running backs and tons of untapped potential at wide receiver. Six senior defensive linemen, with talented youngsters in back up roles, and I don't know when we've had so many quality defensive backs.

You list all of that and we are still just #25. I get the feeling there is one position pundits still don't really like or are at least uncertain about. It tempers the expectations.

No, that UT needs to start beating some of the upper teams in the SEC...follow along.

This conversation started with "the polls being very generous" ranking us at 25 because we lost to GA State and WON by 1 against a Big 10 team.

Follow along....we lost to GA. State and BYU in the first half....oh wait, you're saying they were better than those last teams we beat? We didn't improve?

Yea, didn't want to go there.........again. Keeping my fingers crossed for the best to emerge, regardless of who it is.
