I've been working on upgrading the mobile skin in order to add some new features. Any feedback on design and functionality is welcome as I am unable to test this on multiple phones, only my blackberry.

Yeah, not sure if I will leave that on but it should help increase awareness of the mobile skin. People need to know that they can read and post from anywhere. :)

I would leave it, but I might make a small JPEG file that attaches to the post so it can be readily seen and marketed on other pages.

Is there a quick and easy way to switch to the mobile skin (and back) without having to go all the way into the control panel?

It should automatically recognize your device and switch automatically. If that's not happening, let me know what you are using and I can check into it.

Good point. I stripped out all of the images to make the mobile skin fast and lightweight.

Freak,

I've had a Blackberry for a few months now and I've loved VolNation mobile. It has a great layout on a Blackberry and it looks better than most message boards do. Thanks for making it look great, and allowing me to keep up with the VolNation banter no matter where I am.

Thanks, it's always great to get feedback from fellow blackberry users. For me, this newest version of the skin works better than ever.

Looks good. I thought there was a "last page" option from the main board screen a couple days ago but not seeing it now. It just goes to the last page by default when clicking a thread. Probably better that way but just wanted to ask

There was a link for page navigation for each thread but I removed it for the sake of simplicity. It should take you to your first unread page/post automatically.

Ah. I've got an iPhone, so I don't think I'd want it to switch automatically anyway. I changed manually to check it out, and the mobile version of the site works fine in the iPhone's browser, but so does the full version.

Yep with an i-phone you don't really need a mobile skin. :)

I have opera mini for my blackberry curve and it views full web pages. I'm on the bb browser just checking out the new additions but like opera mini better.

I never tried the BB browser on the website until a few minutes ago, and it's actually quite a bit faster. I'll probably stick with that when going to VN, but use opera mini for other websites.

I'm all over the new mobile skin. The transition period was a little tough, but the changes are great. I'm all over it and as likely the heaviest user, my freaking opinion counts.

I'll seriously pick my next cell phone based upon VolNation ability in WiFi and 3G. How sad am I?
